While there Mr. Morley, underwent an operation from vyhieh he is recuperating. He is being accompanied by his son. As Mr. Morley will require someone to care for him an advertisement appears in the classified column. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Phillips, of Owen Sound visited over the week-end with Mr, and Mrs. J. W. Hern. Mr. J. A. Stewart is again able to be out after being confined to is home for a couple of weeks through illness. Mr. W, G. Stew­ art of Detroit spent the week­ end here. Dr. and Mrs. Vincent Matthews and daughter Maureen, and Mrs. Calan, of Maple Creek, Sask., visited with Miss N. Keddy on Thursday and Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fahner of Chawin, Alberta, are visiting a few days with Mr, and Mrs. Wxn. Switzer. Mrs, Switzer has two Gloxinnia's in bloom with ap­ proximately twelve blooms and as many buds. Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Booking, of St. Thomas, Mr. J. F. Hooper, of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Hooper, London, Mr. and Mrs. E. Hanson and Mr. Frank Down visited with Rev. and Mrs. C. W. Down on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. T, Collingwood and Russ, Mr. and Mrs. L. John­ ston and sons Bobbie and David spent Sunday at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Ray Alderson, Arkona. Mr. and ‘Mrs. A. L. Snelgrove visited the International Trade Fair at Toronto last week. Miss Mary Gardiner is on a motor trip with friends to Flor­ ida Mr. and Mrs. Murray Moore, Sandra and Joanne, of Toronto, spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Moore. Mr, Marsh in appreciation for his splendid ef­ forts was presented with a gold wrist watch and band. As the occasion happened on the thirtieth anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Southcott’s wedding, they were presented with a mag­ nificent basket of flowers while the party sang “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows”. Mrs. South- cott expressed her appreciation while Mr. Southcott stated that he wished the people back home could see them now. A Wake-Up breakfast spon­ sored by Fine Papers Co., Lon­ don, brought the party together early Saturday morning. Mr. Halls, the .president, and several members of the firm were intro­ duced and Mr. Halls spoke brief­ ly. As Convocation took place on Saturday afternoon at the Uni­ versity of Western Ontario, at which Donald Southcott received his B.A. degree as a graduate from the School of Journalism, Mr. Southcott handed over his duties for the day to the vice- president, Mr. Ray Wilson, of Shawinigan Falls, Que. Included in the program for Saturday along with several for­ ums was an address of welcome from Mayor Arthur Reame; a luncheon tendered by the Chrys­ ler Corporation of Canada at which Mr. John Marshall, assist­ ant editor of the Windsor Daily Star, was the speaker. Trophies were awarded to the winners of the various newspaper competitions and a new slate of officers elected. Mrs. William G. Bell and fam­ ily, 'Hensail, wish to thank their relatives, friends and neighbours for the sympathy and kindness shown them in their recent be­ reavement, also for the beauti­ ful floral tributes.
