banquet with 315 attending. The
catering was by the Zurich Wo
men’s Institute.
Don Stauffer, of Bright, presi
dent of Ayr Co-Operative, was
the guest speaker, choosing fpr
his theme "Looking Ahead”,
"We must demand that our
government officials express
where they stand,” he said.
There are 400,000 farmers in
the Federation, and the Inter
national Federation has twenty-
four countries connected with
the F.A.C.
Others who spoke briefly were

The financial report disclosed

The Unique Farm Forum met

Mervyn George Schwalm, 131

in the Stratford General Hospi
tal Friday in his fortieth year.
He had 'boon in Hl health for
four years and in the hospital
since Monday.
A son of Mrs. Violet Schwalm,
Hensail, and the late Peter
Schwalm, he was born in Zurich
on June 27, 1911. He had resid
ed in Stratford since assuming
the position of hotel clerk at the
Mansion House in 1937. In 1939
he married the former Pearl
Schwindt of Moseryille, He was
a member of Zion Evangelical
Lutheran Church.
'Surviving besides his wife and
mother are a son, Robert, and
daughter, Betty, at home; five
brothers and six sisters, Austin,
Sebringville; Miss Mae Schwalm,
London; Gordon, Hensall; Mrs.
(Loreen) R. McKenzie, Hensall;
Mrs, (Nelda) Harold Hansen,
Stratford; Mrs. (Violet) Jack
McFarlane, St. Thomas; Leland,
Hamilton; Mrs. (Margaret) Wil
liam Wayne, Freeman, Ont,;
Raymond, Hensall; Carl, Cen
