The Auburn Women’s Institute met Thursday afternoon, Dec. 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the Auburn Hall for their Christmas meeting. Fourteen members and seven guests sat down to a potluck dinner supplied by the members. The meeting was opened by President Erma Cartwright. This was followed by the blessing given by Rev. Dave Wood. After dinner everyone, enjoyed carol singing with Laura May Chamney at the piano. Margaret Siertsema led the singing. Rev. Wood showed pictures of Israel. He and his brother and a group of ministers took a trip there. Roll call was pay, sing or say. Some interesting readings were given. A gift exchange took place. The next meeting is Jan. 21 at 1:30 p.m. in the Auburn Hall. Waiting their turn While the younger students performed earlier in the night last week at Hullett Central Public School’s Christmas concert, they were eventually called back up to perform again.
