The Citizen, 2009-12-24, Page 11We asked the Grade 1 students at
Brussels Public School...
What do you think Santa’s elves
look like and what would you say to
one if you ever met?
“I think they wear green clothes
with green hats. They would have a
couple of different ones in case they
got dirty at Santa’s workshop, but
their skin would be grey.
I think they would be medium
sized.
I would ask him what toys he was
going to make this Christmas and
what Santa’s workshop looks like.”
- Ben
“They would have green hats and a
green suit, because they have green
everything.
I think an elf would be about 20
centimetres tall and have black
shoes, but he wouldn’t wear glasses.
I would ask him what toys he
wanted for Christmas.” - Taylor
“They would have green hats,
green suits and they make toys. They
would have black shoes too, that’s a
fact.
I would tell him to get to work.” -
Tory
“They would have a long beard
like Santa and have elf hats with
green suits.
I would tell the elf that he is very
capable.” - Hudson
“They wear Christmas clothes, red
and green.
They’re smaller than us for sure.
I would ask the elf for a toy for
Christmas.” - Bianka
“They would have green hats or
red hats, but then a white furry collar
on their shirts.
I think an elf is about 15 feet tall.
I would ask the elf if he wanted to
have fun, then I could tell him that I
would help him out.” - Lucas
“I know that they make toys. They
have big ears and they’re small. They
wear green clothes too.
I would ask the elf if I was on
Santa’s bad list.” - Charles
“I think they’re short and they all
wear red clothes.
I would ask the elf what it is like
living up in the sky.” - Azana
“They have green hats and green
boots. Everything is green and
they’re just really short.
I would tell the elf that he’s been a
good boy.” - Devin
“They look green, but they also
look red.
I know about the elves, because
Santa sent me a video note and the
elves walk around and look through
your windows to see if you’re good
or bad.
Would I say something to the elf,
or would he say something first? I
would say hi, but if he asked me
first, I would tell him what I wanted
for Christmas in case I hadn’t got my
letter to Santa in yet.” - Jordyn
“They have cool eyes and some
black boots. Maybe they have pointyears too and they wear a wholebunch of red and green and maybe acool Santa hat.I would ask him why he makestoys and why does he like wrappinggifts and other things about his job.”
- Max
“They’re small and they have big
ears and they wear green all over
because that’s what elves look like.
I would ask if they’ve seen Santa
lately.”
- Nolan
“They have a hat, they have
hammers and they have a tool belt to
hold in the hammers.
I would ask him what he wanted
for Christmas, or I would just say hi
and ask what’s up?” - Justin
“I think they’re tall and they have
a hat and they wear all green and
white.
I would probably just say thank
you.” - Grace
“They have a red nose and they
wear red and green.
I would ask the elf if Santa is nice
to them.” - Matthew
“They wear green hats and greensuits and green pants and they havepointy ears.I would ask what kind of toys hewas making for this Christmas.” -Perrin
“I think they’re short and green
and they wear funny shoes.
I would say hi.”
- Tess
“He would have a hat like Santa’s,
just about and have curly shoes.
I would ask how are you?” -
Hayden
“I think he would be orange and he
would wear Christmas clothes.
I would say hi.” - Kaylee
“I think that they wear green and
have jingle bells on all of their
clothes.
I would say , ‘Hi Elf.’” - Amber
“I think they just wear little elf
clothes. Then I would say hello to
him” - Abby
“I think he would look cute. He
would be wearing elf clothes too.
I would ask if he goes to work.” -
