The Blyth Brussels Bantam girls
were keen to play hockey
Wednesday, Dec. 16 when they
headed to Southampton on a stormy
night.
The girls played an aggressive
game which saw many in the penalty
box, even a few who had never
visited it before. The Southampton
team managed to outplay them but
the girls didn’t give up without a
fight.
Blyth-Brussels had several good
shots, but just couldn’t land one in
the net.
The game ended in a 4-0 loss.
The Bantam girls played two
games this past weekend and won
both. They were getting practised
up for their tournament over the
holidays in Milverton.
The first game was against
Howick on Saturday, Dec. 19. They
played this team in the Waterloo
tournament and tied, so they wanted
to win this one. The game ended in a
4-2 victory for the girls with Heidi
Raynard and Jordan Sholdice each
scoring two.
On Sunday the girls played a home
game in Brussels against Ayton. The
game was pretty one sided with a 5-
1 victory for Blyth-Brussels. Scoring
were Raynard, Sholdice with two,
Laura Higgins and Courtney
Middegaal.
