There was lots of passing from one end to the other as each team battled to score. With just 0:14 seconds left on the clock in the first period Tim Waechter opened the scoring. He was assisted by Wyatt Ducharme’s pass, with Scott Dolmage at the ready for a possible rebound shot. In the second period, Hayden TenPas scored with a shot that bounced off Austin Johnston’s shoulder as the puck made its way into the net. TenPas scored again minutes later. Again, Johnston racked up the assist, along with Mitch Kellington. At the end of the second period, Brussels had a 3-0 lead. Mid-way through the third period, the line of TenPas, Johnston and Kellington scored again with TenPas earning his hattrick of the night. A few minutes later, Kellington stormed the puck down the ice, around all the players, and cleanly flipped it in behind the Ripley goalie to make it 5-0. Waechter scored his second of the night with a “had-to-see-it-to- believe-it” shot. With Dolmage and Ducharme distracting the Ripley players,Waechter fired it in from the direct far right-hand corner of the goal line. The trio of TenPas, Johnston and Kellington came out the next shift to add one more goal to their total to end the game 7-0. Goalie Matt McNichol made several saves throughout the night t keep Brussels on an undefeated streak. The Ripley goalie also deserves credit here for making more saves throughout the game than pucks that made it past him. The PeeWees travelled to Blyth this past Sunday for a rough, fast- paced game. Blyth took a 1-0 lead near the end of the first period. Ducharme scored, unassisted with 2:54 left on the clock to tie it up. Just two minutes in to the second period, Ducharme scored again to take the lead. TenPas scored a buzzer-beater goal to take the lead at the end of the second period. Despite numerous penalties in the third period, neither team was able to score on any of the power plays. Brussels took the bragging rights this time, winning 3-1.
