What beautiful weather we are
having. I think we have had more
sunshine in November than all of
October. With weather like this we
should be getting all our outside
work done and not have it to do next
spring. Sometimes when that four
letter ‘s’ word comes early, it leaves
a mess to clean up in the spring.
Get out and enjoy the good
weather, it may not last long.
BLYTH UNITED CHURCH
Greeting at Blyth United Church
on Sunday, Nov. 15 were Doug
Howson and Terry Richmond.
Ushering were Nicole Kerr, Lori
Brooks and Brenda Brooks. Fred
Hakkers ran the power point.
The choir sang the anthem, One
More Step Along the World I Go.
The call to worship was followed
by the prayer of approach. The first
scripture reading was from Romans
8: 22-28. Floyd Herman, Rev. Gary
Clark and Jon Hakkers presented a
play about the explanation of the
word Syn-ergy.
The children were asked to come
to the front for their story time. Rev.
Clark explained to the children that
you can do more things with a loonie
than you can with the pennies they
had a couple of weeks ago. Just
think of all the things they could if
they all joined their loonies together.
The children gave the
congregation each a loonie before
they went downstairs for their time
of worship and fellowship.
The next hymn, Breathe on Me
Breath of God was followed by the
scripture reading from Mark 4: 21-
25.
Rev. Clark’s message to the adults
was Explosive Evil and Explosive
Good. A Native grandson was
talking to his grandfather and told
him he had two demons inside of
him and asked which one would
win. The wise grandfather said
whichever one was fed would win
out. Sins verses virtue.
When people work together they
can conquer anything.
The next hymn, Amazing Grace
was sung followed by the prayer of
confession and the hymn Blessed
Assurance.
Grant Sparling read the names of
those in Sunday school and
congregation having November
birthdays and invited everyone for
cupcakes to celebrate the birthdays.
