they need to remember the fallen
soldiers and also all those who
sacrificed their lives.
As they prepared for worship
through music, the congregation
sang, Make Me a Channel of Your
Peace.
After the call to worship was read
responsively, Rev. Tom lit the ChristCandle.The song of remembrance was, OGod, Our Help in Ages Past. Duringthe singing of the hymn thecongregation was invited to placetheir poppies on the cross.
The Litany of Remembrance was
read responsively.
The senior choir sang, Peace for
the Children.
In remembering commend their
souls anew to God’s eternal presence
and compassion.
Moments of silence were followed
by the singing of O’ Canada.Emily Stennett read, In FlandersFields.Ron Taylor named all those whohad served and gave their lives in theFirst and Second World War.Knox United Church Women
conducted Sunday worship on
Sunday, Nov. 1.
Gloria Dow welcomed the
worshippers and led the hymn-sing
which included, I’m Gonna Shout,
Shout … And Dance with the Spirit.
Sympathy was extended to the
family of the late George Inglis.
Pat Hunking led the service.
Scripture was presented
dramatically, The Prodigal Son by
Doreen and Karen Marks, Ruth
Gordon and Gloria.
The children’s story included the
presentation of a tableau depicting
the forced enrolment of First Nations
children in Indian residential
schools. All of the congregationparticipated.The meditation titledReconciliation was given by GloriaDow, assisted by Betty Ross in adialogue, A Survivor’s Story.Following the service a potluck
dinner, organized by the Kids for
Christ worship team was enjoyed by
all.
The youth sold the Halloween
cupcakes which they made and
decorated on Saturday and Emily
Stennett reminded everyone to
bring their donations for the
Operation Christmas boxes before
Nov. 15.

Inglis who passed away on Oct. 27 at
Wingham and District Hospital.
Bill Coultes is a patient at Grand
River Hospital in Kitchener.

Putting it in stone
While the main arena floor has been poured at the
Belgrave Community Centre, the ring around the arena,
outside of where the boards will soon be placed, was
poured last week. The project is well on its way after
