their second game.
Catering chairman Jo-Ann
McDonald reported that the fish fry
season is over and the Branch had
cooked at 15 for the year. There were
already six booked for next year’s
season, so enjoy the winter’s rest.
Thanks to all the Comrades who
helped out over the season and
hopefully we will see you all back
next year to help.
There are two family Christmas
dinners booked, as well as a couple
of banquets for the new year booked.

Thursday night mixed darts havebegun with 14 players out for thefirst night. The first-place team wasLawrence Machan, Catrina Joslingand Gord Jacklin. In second wereRoger McHardy, Glen Zehr and Deb
Cann. The high shot of the night was
by Glen Zehr shooting a 130.
Come out to play at 8 p.m. and
have a night of fun for only a buck.
The Friday night supper of breaded
pork cutlet was enjoyed by over 40
people. The menu is chicken and rice
this week.
The Saturday afternoon euchre
seen eight and a half tables of
players. The top players of the day
were George and Deanna with 78
points. The second-place team was
Verna and Rita with 66 points.
Tyeing for third were Bev Hayden
and Mary McIntosh, Dorothy Carter
and Joann MacDonald, Viola and
Ruth and Ed and Marie Stewart each
with 65 points.
Low prize of the day went to Stuart
and Lois Chamney with 46 points.Lone-hand prizes went to Harry andVera. Euchre is every two weeks.The Kids Care group held itssecond annual Halloween food driveon Saturday afternoon. The group of
over 30 children, along with their
adult supervision used the Legion as
their meeting and drop-off point for
the food drive. They canvassed the
town in the afternoon and gathered
over 900 items for the drive.
The kids boxed up all the
donations when they were brought in
and accepted donations from folks
dropping them off at the Legion. The
group enjoyed refreshments and had
a group picture taken at the end of
the day.
The food will be taken to the North
Huron Foodbank for distribution.
Great job by these young people to
show that we can all make a
difference in life if we try, no matter
our age.
The Sunday night dance had the
Georgian Bay Islands entertaining.There were over 70 people on handto enjoy the music.Comrades Ross and Marg Bennetthave made the trip to Elora with thepop tabs that have been collected and
brought to the Branch. There were
over 100 lbs. of tabs taken to the
Elora Branch for the wheelchair
program. The Elora Branch has been
able to purchase 1,004 wheelchairs,one valued at over $7,000 since theinception of the program. They havealso purchased three of the specially-designed bicycles. The Cadets are collecting pop cans
and they take the tabs off and give
them to the Branch as well. Pop cans
can be dropped off at the rear of the
Branch for Tuesday night pickup.

Health Team will be holding an
H1N1 vaccination clinic for high
risk priority patients of the
following doctors: Dr. Jason
Datema, Dr. Dan Eickmeier, Dr.
Heather Percival, Dr. Dan
Rooyakkers and Dr. Carolin
Shepherd.
Priority patients as identified by
the Public Health Agency of Canada
include: people under 65 with
chronic health conditions, pregnant
women, children six months to less
than five years of age and household
contacts and care providers of
persons at high risk who cannot be
immunized or may not respond to
vaccines.
If you are unsure as to whether
you should attend this clinic, contact
The Huron community Family
Health Team offices at 519-600-
2273. Non-priority patients will not
be immunized at this clinic.
The clinic will be held at the
Huron community Family Health
Team offices in the Huron East
Health Centre, 32B Centennial
Drive, Seaforth on Wednesday, Nov.
4 from noon to 7 p.m.
Patients should note the office will
be closed for the morning of Nov.
4.

expect delays.
