church you’ve always longed for
might look like?
At Huron Chapel we have begun a
journey that will last 50 days to give
us an idea what we can do to makethat happen. The criterion is set andthe principles it entails requirechange, commitment and decisive
action on each part of the
congregation. Each part doing their
part … but each part doing their part
according to His part so we don’t fall
apart. Now does that make sense? In ICorinthians 12:12 the Apostle Paulstates that, “The body is a unit,
though it is made up of many parts;
and though all its parts are many,
they form one body. So it is with
Christ.”
Imagine the parts of your body notco-operating! Wait a minute, thatdoesn’t take much imagination at myage.
Some of them are already
declaring mutiny so I can’t even
begin to imagine what it is like for
Fran at this stage of the game.
You get the drift. When the old
body doesn’t co-operate it leaves
pain and it debilitates and hinders us
from accomplishing what we would
like to do.
So it is in the church.
The Body of Christ was designed
like a many-faceted gem and each
part is called to shine with the
gifting and ability that God has
deemed fit to bless them with.
When this happens, the church is a
beautiful thing. It is a safe haven in
the time of storm and a place of
celebration when the sun is shining
down.
Each part doing its part, working
in synch to accent one another so
that we get a glimpse of what the
church you’ve always longed for
might look like.
This is where we are headed at
Huron Chapel and this is the longing
that we have in our hearts, to work
together as the Body of Christ to be
church you’ve always longed
for.
We have a long ways to go and Henever said it would be easy but Hedid promise He would be with us onthe journey because after all, it is His
Church. We are a part of all this and
each part is learning to do its part so
we don’t fall apart so that in all
things we can commend Christ and
strive to become the church you’ve
always longed for.
Join us on the journey and let us
know how we are doing.
