in the Jordan River in order to be
healed. (II Kings 5: 1-14). The
general was really upset to be told to
bath in dirty Jewish river. At first he
left in a rage.
His servants coached him to be
obedient. He did wash and was
healed. If he did not follow God’s
way, he would have remained ill. In
Naaman’s case, the root cause of his
disease may have been pride and
God may have been dealing with
that.
A year ago I was on the table in
St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener
having a procedure on my one artery
that was 99 per cent closed. The
doctor shared with me what she was
doing. I was awake during the
procedure, so I asked if I could pray.
She said “yes”. She was not sure if
she would be able to get the wire
through the clogged artery.
I prayed. The wire went through
and she was so excited that she did a
little dance. Then she proceeded to
put the stint in. I prayed. The stint
was put in.
Today I am able to jog and my
energy level has returned.
How much of my healing was
from the medical procedure and
how much of it was from God? I do
not know.
Although I do believe God is
honoured as we seek him and use
different channels for our
healing.

Minister
recalls
time of
healing
By Ryan Baan
The first meeting of the Grey 4-H
Club’s newest project, Milk Makes It
Better, was held on Oct. 9 at the
home of 4-H leader Tracey Swart.
The club split into three groups to
make vegetable pizza, with broccoli,
onion, green peppers, mushrooms
and mozzarella cheese.
While the pizza was cooking, they
elected officers. President is Nick
Vinnicombe; vice-president, Chelsey
Terpstra; secretary, Johanna Blake;
treasurer, Jasmin Roth and press
reporter, Ryan Baan.
The other members are Adam
Baan, Sam Fretz, Cody Rathwell,
Kelsey Rathwell, Lexi Smith,
Matthew Swart, Alison Terpstra, and
Eric Van Nes. The leaders are
Monique Baan, Tracey Swart and
Barb Terpstra.
Secretary Johanna Blake read a
letter to the club from the Walton
Women’s Institute. It included a
monetary donation towards the club.
Later the club got to try the
delicious vegetable pizza.
The second meeting was held Oct.
17 at the home of Monique Baan.
President Nick Vinnicombe
opened the meeting with the 4-H
pledge.
They chose a name for the club,
The Grey Township Utterly Amazing
Milkers. They then did some taste
testing. We tasted UHT (ultra high
temperature) milk, soy milk,
powdered milk, Lacteeze which is
lactose-free milk, and goat’s milk.
They decided that the powdered milk
was the least tasty of the bunch.
Next, half the club made a cheesy
fondue dip, while the other half made
homemade ice cream. They also took
the ice cream quiz which was all
about ice cream.
Later, they ate the cheesy fondu
with bread sticks and carrot sticks,
then tasted the ice cream.
A few members knew a fun song
called, I Am Cow which they taught
to the rest of the group and they
made a video of everyone singing it.
They closed the meeting with the
4-H motto.
