The congregation of Melville Presbyterian Church, Brussels will celebrate its 155th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 4. One of the oldest churches in the village of Brussels, Melville has an unusual side pulpit sanctuary, and fine woodwork that is an excellent example of the craftsmanship of an earlier time. The anniversary will be celebrated with a dinner from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. featuring Cardiff Catering’s barbecued beef and barbecued sweet pickled ham with all the trimmings. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Preschool children are free. Takeout is available and there is free delivery within Brussels. There will be a special anniversary service at 11 a.m. led by the Rev. John Zondag and featuring the music of the Hiller family.
