The Saugeen Maitland Lightning
PeeWee team started their season
with a tournament in Alliston.
The girls played Friday night
against Clearview. The game started
slowly but Miranda Lantz scored
with Ashley Lawerence assisting.
Later in that period Neve Van Pelt

another to finish the game with a 3-

assisted by Tori Terpstra, Van Pelt
assisted by Smith and Hannah
Herman unassisted with a break-
away goal.
Rebecca Popp played well in net.
The third game against Oakville
was the toughest of the day. They
were two evenly-matched strong
teams.
Oakville scored early in the first,
then again in the second on a power
play.
Lantz then answered with a nice
goal assisted by Holly Nelson. That
got the girls pumped, but they
unfortunately ran out of time.
On Sunday it was close to taking
the championship against Oakville.
The Lightning girls came out and
put the first point on the board when
Van Pelt scored assisted by Smith.
Oakville scored on a powerplay
but with seconds left Lawerence

Clearview tournament.

Alliston and the Lightning squad
came out on top. Reagan Kaufman

this 7-0 effort.
