ROBERT GEORGE (BOB) BROUGHTON BORN: November 30, 1959, Listowel, ON Died: July 26, 2009 Listowel, ON Age: 49 years Bob passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday July 26th 2009. He resided in Monkton and was born 49 years ago in Listowel, a son of Cora (Hulley)Broughton of Monkton and the lateGeorge Broughton who predeceased him December 18 1988. Bob was a member of the Monkton United Church and a former member of the Monkton Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time fishing. Bob will be missed by his dog Molly. Loving father of Cory Broughton and his fiancée Michelle Hoffmeyer and Chad and Kelly Broughton all of Monkton and the proud grandpa of Cole Robert William Broughton. Dear brother of Sharon Pengelly and friend Ted Williams of Goderich, Marion and Wayne Colquhoun of Listowel, Betty Lou and Ross Rennick of Monkton, and Brenda and Bill Burkholder of Blyth. Also remembered by Joanne Broughton of Monkton and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Don Pengelly. Family and friends shared memories of Bob at the Brenneman Funeral Home in Atwood on Wednesday July 29th 2009 with the funeral taking place Thursday July 30th 2009 at the Monkton United Church. Rev. Alex McGilvery and Rev. George Russell officiated. Interment was in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood. Flower bearers were nieces Angela Pestell and Heather Rennick and great-nephews Wade and Jared Pestell. Pallbearers were his sons Cory and Chad Broughton, brothers-in-law Ross Rennick and Bill Burkholder and friends Duane Gilbert and Brad Newton.In lieu of flowers, memorialdonations were given to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Listowel Memorial Hospital. DONALD G. ELLIOTT Donald G. Elliott passed away suddenly at home, RR3, Blyth on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009. He was in his 66th year. Donald was the beloved husband of Sandra (nee Allan). He was the loving father of Kurt and Dean Elliott, and dear brother of John (Bev) and Betsy (Bryan) Allan, all of Blyth. Donald was predeceased by parents Gordon and Betsy Elliott and brother Grant. He is fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Nellie Allan, brothers-in-law Arnold (Cathy) and Floyd (Liz) Allan as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends were received at the Blyth Visitation Chapel of the FalconerFuneral Homes, 407 Queen St.,Blyth on Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. where a private family service was held on Wednesday commencing at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Interment will be at Blyth Union Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Blyth Legion Building Fund or the Blyth Fire Department would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. MARIE DEVOS Mrs. Marie deVos of Turnberry Twp. passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on Thursday, July 30, 2009. The former Marie vanDriel was the beloved wife of the late Bill deVos who predeceased her in 2001. She was the dear mother of Aart and Greta deVos of Turnberry Twp., Donna deVos and Jan in British Columbia, Bill and Cindy deVos of Turnberry Twp. and Murray andGerda deVos of Ancaster. She is alsosurvived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Maria was predeceased by her parents Marinus and Maria (deKoeijer) vanDriel, sister Ebrina Scheele and Janna Murre and brothers Ferdinandus and Karl vanDriel. Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Saturday,Aug. 1 from 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the funeral chapel on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Wayne Beamer officiated. Interment was in Wingham Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Asthma is a chronic breathing disorder affecting both children and adults.
