The Walton Brewers had two
games on the schedule last week and
posted wins for both.
They hosted the Zurich Rangers
on Tuesday evening with Scott
Leonhardt on the mound for Walton.
After a scoreless first inning Walton
opened the second inning with a solo
homerun by Steve Knight. A second
run scored when Scott Cox was hit
by a pitch, advanced by Blaine
Marks and driven home by Scott
McDonald’s hit.
Zurich earned one run back in the
top of the third for their only run of
the game.
Walton scored another run in the
bottom of the third, three more runs
in the fifth with a standup triple by
Jamie Pearn scoring one, Knight
singled to score Pearn, and
McDonald tripled and scored home
on the error throw to complete the
scoring for a 6-1 final score.
The Brewers’ second game was
Friday evening in Belmore. Paul
Dolmage started the game with Cox
coming in in the fifth.
Walton opened the scoring getting
a couple of runs in the first and again
in the second.
Belmore got on the scoreboard in
a big way scoring eight runs in the
bottom of the third.
Walton came alive and retaliated
with 10 runs in the fourth inning to
end the scoring 14-8 for the night.
Knight and McDonald each had two
homeruns and Darryl Houston was
three for three at bat.
All the Brewers had hits in the
game.
The next home game is July 28
and the Brewers will be playing in
the Brussels tournament this
weekend.
