On Tuesday fed steers and heifers sold on a steady strong active market. Choice steers and heifers sold $96 to $99 with sales to $100.75. Second cut sold $93 to $96. Cows sold $3 higher. On Thursday beef veal sold on a good active trade. Holstein veal sold $1 to $2 higher. Heavy lambs sold steady, light lambs sold $5 to $10 higher. Sheep and goats sold steady. On Friday calves sold on a very strong trade with prices $2 to $3 higher. Yearlings sold steady. There were 152 steers on offer. The Friday night euchre at the Cranbrook Hall was a very happy place with lots of laughter and eight tables at play. It was hosted by Viola Adams and Allan Edgar. Share-the-wealth winners were Edna McLellan and Leona McDonald. Travelling lone hand winner was Jean Dewar. Other winners were: ladies’ high, Helen Dobson; ladies’ low, Linda Minielly; ladies’lone hands, Leanne Minielly; men’s high, Judy Hahn; men’s low, Henry Christimem; men’s lone hands, Neil Hatt. Lucky tally winners were: Allan Edgar, Mary Huether, Bush Whittard, Donna Smith, Allan Martin, Mary Davidson, Sharon Freeman, Delphine Dewar, Joan Jacobs, Dorothy Dilworth, Keith Turnbull, Ruth Ward, Wayne Ward, and Leona McDonald.
