Grade 8s take trip to Camp Celtic
On Friday, June 12 the
Londesborough Happy Gang
Seniors held their monthly card
party at the Londesborough
Community Hall. There were 15
tables of euchre that spring evening.
A score of 85 points won first
place money for Betty Thompson
and Bernice Moore. Helen Nolan
and Betty Hulley placed second with
a final tally of 74 points. This place
was awarded to two couples, Murray
and Marlene Forbes and Gloria
McEwing and Geraldine Dale with
score of 70.
There was a tie as well for most
successfully played lone hands.
Both couples, Eldon and Ivy Kinart
and Kay and Vera Hesselwood had a
score of six.
The next card party will take place
on July 10.
Gladys Van Egmond will entertain
at the June gathering of the seniors’
group at noon June 24.
Matt Smith and Dawn Dolmage
were united in marriage on Saturday,
June 6. Their own lawn was a lovely
setting for the ceremony and vows
were exchanged under a decorated
arch. Guests report that pink
dominated the decorations both at
the house and for the reception held
at the Blyth Community Centre.
The couple honeymooned in
Vancouver.
Congratulations and best wishes
are extended to Matt and Dawn from
the village.
A 50th wedding celebration was
held on Saturday, June 13 for Stan
and June Johns. June’s bridesmaid,
her sister, Gail Lear had an easier
time taking part in the wedding 50
years ago than being part of the 50th
celebrations. Gail had an ankle
operated on May 28 and is sporting a
cast and using a wheelchair for
getting around. Otherwise Harry
says Gail is doing as well as could be
expected.
