The Huron community Family Health Team is sponsoring the clinics, for patients without a family doctor June 1, 2, 4, 9, 15, 16, 19, 23 and 29 at the Seaforth MedicalCentre, 28 Centennial Dr.Appointments can be made bycalling 519-527-1770.Barbara Major-McEwan, HcFHT executive director, said the first set of clinics was held in April in response to calls from orphan patients. “We were turning them away, but then we had two locum physicians so decided to hold clinicsrather than send people to theemergency room for treatment.”In addition to providing peoplewith necessary healthcare, the clinics are also informing patients about the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care’s Health Care Connect. “This links people without a regular family health care provider to providers who are enrolling morepatients in their area,” said Major-McEwan.People can register for the HealthCare Connect program by calling 1- 800-445-1822. “With the registry, we should be better able to know exacly how many orphan patients there are as well.” Major-McEwan also expresses thehope that the locums in Seaforth willbe staying in the area, leaving a fewless orphans. Entry is through a porch flanked by pilasters that support an extra-high roof with decorative bracing in the gable. The foyer leads, at a slight angle and through an archway, to the open-plan great room complex. In the great room, large windows overlook a partly covered sundeck. This home measures 46 feet wide by 63 feet deep, for a total of 1,616 square feet, plus the unfinished basement.
