What a banner!
Students at Hullett Central Public School prepared a banner for this year’s Clinton Spring Fair
to operate as a header for the students’ schoolwork on display there. The topic of the work this
year is Cattle are Fine in 2009. The fair runs June 5 and 6 and the school was charged with
showing some school spirit in displaying their name for the fair. On banner duty were, from left:
Kelton Jeffery, Jordyn Trebish, Savannah Veenstra, Cameron Wilts and Cole Delbergue. (Shawn

If you spotted some colourful
children headed to Hullett Central
Public School on Friday it was their
individual expression for the most
recent spirit day. The children were
encouraged to go head to toe in their
favourite colour that day. That may
have involved face painting and hair
tinting to co-ordinate with their
clothing.
Next week the pupils in Grades 3
and 6 will be writing EQAO tests.
These tests, although worrisome
perhaps for the children, help
determine school and board goals
for the future.
This week’s recipe written by the
Grade 3 children for the character
attributes is optimist pie.
Ingredients: 2 cups of fairness, 1 cup
of fair trial, 1/2 tsp. of what’s right,
1 tsp. of responsibility, 1/2 cup of
honesty, 2/3 cups of the truth.
Instructions: Mix two cups of
equalness with fair trial and what’s
right. Mix well – don’t worry about
small lumps. In a different bowl mix
responsibility with honesty and
truth.
Mix well with other bowl. Pour
batter into cupcake pans. Put in oven
for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Ice
when cool. Recipe makes 12
cupcakes.
