The Citizen, 2009-04-30, Page 24North Huron council approved inprinciple an internet technologyposition for the township. Clerk-administrator Kriss Snell
presented a report that indicated the
hiring of a full-time IT person should
not affect the proposed budget
increase of 1.97 per cent. Snell
suggested additional revenue that hadbeen received for day care could bemoved to offset the cost. Snell said the position would be fora 35-hour work week with a propsedsalary range of $45,00-$50,000 plusbenefits. This figure is for budget only
and could change after further review.
Duties involve such things as server
installation at the complex, computer
maintenance and support, hard and
software purchases, businessmachines, telecommunications, GIS,website maintenance, training andfire and security systems. As well, he listed other potentionalduties such as waste diversionprograms and water and waste water
and health and safety compliance.
“Some duties may be train as you
go,” Snell explained.
Snell also noted a potential for
revenue as other municipalities maywish to contract the IT services fromNorth Huron. As an example hesuggested 300 hours at $75 an hour, which would bring in $22,500. Asked about the money that hasbeen spent on these types of services
in the past, Snell said there was
$18,000 paid out in 2007.
Asked about office space, Snell said
that was still being considered, but it
was possible that the person wouldn’t“have to physically be in this office”.He added that there was space in themuseum. Snell noted that there were still anumber of things to investigate andsaid he would only like agreement in
principle at this point. Council
approved the recommendation and
another to transfer half of the day care
revenue to the budget.

THREE-BEDROOM RANCH-STYLE HOME
This handsome three-bedroom ranch-style home, which features a bonus loft area with a large window, boasts classic
lines that will make it a welcome addition to any neighbourhood.
In the double-height foyer, natural light will flood in through a high window, as well as through the mullioned panes that
surround the front door.
At the heart of this home is the great room, open to the kitchen and dining room. With access to a covered porch through
french doors, as well as a corner fireplace to cast its warmth through the area, this room will be a focus for family activities
all year round. The vaulted ceiling lends an air of drama and spaciousness that will appeal to both family members and
visitors.
The dining room occupies its own bayed-out niche. Windows on three sides will guarantee plenty of natural light in this
room. The kitchen, separated from the great room and dining area by an angled work island, includes a roomy pantry. The
L-shaped counter configuration promises efficiency.
The master suite’s exterior wall is set back a few feet from the rest of the home, ensuring privacy. An arched entrance
from the corridor adds charm to the suite. The master bedroom also features a vaulted ceiling, and large window overlooks
the back garden.
The ensuite is almost as large as the bedroom. A soaker tub is set at an angle in one corner, adjacent to a five-sided
shower stall. Double basins with plenty of counter space will ease the morning rush-hour. Next to the ensuite is a spacious
walk-in closet, where natural light will enter through a window that overlooks the front porch.
The second and third bedrooms, on the opposite side of the home from the master suite, are separated by a three-piece
bath. Across the hallway is a linen closet.
Adjoining the foyer is a laundry room and storage area. The laundry room, with a closet and access to the double
garage, will also serve as a mud room.
The loft has sloping ceilings. Near the stairway and protected by a railing, an open area offers a view to the floor below.
Exterior finishes include horizontal siding, decorative shingles in the gable ends, cut-stone accents and double
pilasters. The front door is surrounded with mullioned glass and features a central window.
This home measures 58 feet, two inches wide and 61 feet deep, for a total of 2041 square feet.
