the Lenten meditation, then
extinguished another candle.
The senior choir sang Friends in
Christ with the children’s hymn, Tell
Me the Stories of Jesus following.
During the singing of the last verse
the children went to the front. Rev.
Murray asked the children what kind
of a person they would like as a
friend. They said loyal, honest,
respectful, responsible, dedicated,
and committed to the friendship.
Just as a magnet attracts iron and
other magnetic material, the children
also need qualities that attract them
to their friends, Rev. Murray said.
The scripture readings, Ezekiel 37:1-14, and Psalm 130 were read byRon Taylor. The congregation sang apost-Easter hymn, Now the GreenBlade Rises.The gospel acclamation was readresponsively. God’s Word wasentitled, Our Journey … Dead Man
Walking and was based on John 11:
1-43. It related to the scripture
reading. Ben and Ken Procter took up theoffering followed by the singing ofthe hymn, Your Work, O God NeedsMany Hands. The offering wasdedicated.The closing hymn was Bless NowO God the Journey.

Relatives of Margaret Higgins
helped her celebrate her 90th
birthday on Sunday, March 22 at
Braemar Retirement Home in
Wingham. The community extends
best wishes to Margaret whose
special day was March 23.
The Madill boys curling team
recently competed in WOSSAA
which was held in St. Mary’s curling
club. Skip Kyle Forster, vice Ben
Procter, lead Matthew Cottrill,
second Matthew Hallahan and
coach Steve McKague were
undefeated in round robin play to
claim the title.
They advanced to compete at
OFSSAA in Grimsby March 25-28.
There they won three games out of
four. There were 20 teams in their
division and in the quarter finals
they lost by two points.
The seniors potluck lunch is on
Friday, April 3 at 2 p.m. in the
community centre. Bring dishes and
silverware.
