BILL MCKAYMr. William Ellacott McKay ofRR2, Clinton, and formerly of Listowel passed away at Clinton Public Hospital on Saturday, March 14, 2009. He was in his 66th year. Bill was the beloved son of the late Leslie and Myrtle (Ellacott) McKay. He was the dear brother of Ron and Judy McKay, Bruce and Joan McKay and Myrna and Mike Flynn, all of Kitchener. He was the uncle of Dava McKay and Robin Green of Rockland, Danien and Jody Schippanoski of Kitchener, Deanne McKay and Chris Witecki and Eric Tripp McKay and Stephanie Dyrkton, all of Guelph and great-uncle of Josh, Hannah, Sarah and Sabina. Bill was predeceased by his niece Sharon Tripp. Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Monday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 18 at 11 a.m. Rev. Steve Cox officiated.Spring interment will be in MountPleasant Cemetery, Ethel. Memorial donations to Clinton Public Hospital would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be left at www.eatonfuneralhome.ca HAROLD BOYD TAYLOR Mr. Harold Boyd Taylor of Morris Ward passed away peacefully at Clinton Public Hospital on Tuesday, March 10, 2009. He was in his 76th year. Boyd was born in Clinton, Ontarioon May 10, 1933, the son of the lateKenneth Middleton Taylor and the late Ann (McFarlane) Taylor. He was the beloved husband of Muriel (Reynolds) Taylor for almost 50 years. Boyd was also the loved and cherished father of Jim and Crystal Taylor of Morris Ward and Nancy and Robert Snell of RR1, Clinton. He was the cherished grandfather of Jamie and Rachael Taylor, Ashley and Matt Bromley, Jenna and Jordan Gibbings, Andrew Taylor, Matt Snell, Laura Snell, Ali Snell and Brooke Snell andgreat-grandfather of Tori and JuliannTaylor and Carson and Sydney Bromley. Boyd is survived as well by his brother Mac and his wife Jayne Mary of Dawson Creek, B.C. and a sister Claire Taylor of Salt Spring Island, B.C. Boyd is also survived by one aunt Harriett Epperson of Galion, Ohio. At Boyd’s wishes there will be no funeral home visitation and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Spring interment will be inBlyth Union Cemetery.Memorial donations to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation or to the CCAC Nursing Services would be appreciated. Agencies across Huron County, who work with people living in poverty, are gathering in April to learn how to better help families move out of poverty. The Huron County Health Unit and Huron County Social Services have organized the training, called Bridges out of Poverty. The two-day workshop provides creative and practical solutions for community members and agencies concerned about poverty issues. It will be held at the Huron County Health Unit on April 2 and 3. Trainer Janice Dunbar says poverty exists in Huron. “We need to work together as a community to find the best ways to create opportunities for families to move out of generational poverty. An important part of these two days is that it provides a better understanding of the challenges and strengths of people struggling with low incomes.” The cost is $35 for both days.
