passed away peacefully surrounded
by her family at Uxbridge Cottage
Hospital on Wednesday, Feb. 18,
2009. Born in Paisley on Aug. 11,
1916, Phyllis was in her 93rd
year.
Phyllis was the beloved wife of
the late Bill Beacom who
predeceased her in 1992 and will be
sadly missed by her daughter Hope
Fennell and husband Ron of Whitby
and her grandchildren Maeghan and
John. Phyllis will be fondly
remembered by her brother Jim and
Lenore Hope of Paisley, her sister-
in-law Kathleen Fritz of Brooklyn,
her brother-in-law Roy and Shirley
Beacom of Chatham and her many
nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her
parents James and Ellen Hope and
her sister Arnetta.
Friends were received by the
family one hour prior to the funeral
service conducted from theSchimanski Family Funeral Homeon Saturday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m.
with Rev. Cathrine Campbell
officiating.
Remembrances of Phyllis were
given by her grandchildren
Maeghan and John. Pallbearers
were John Fennell, Maeghan
Fennell, Kent Hope, David Teeple,
Mary Ellen Teeple and Michael
Rohwer. Spring interment will be in
Brussels Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made
to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
of Ontario.

ORVILLE KELLAND
Mr. Orville McPhail Kelland, 86,
of Mitchell, and formerly of
Londesborough passed away at the
Mitchell Nursing Home on
Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009.
Orville was the beloved husbandof Reta (Heckman, Little) Kelland.He was the dear father of Linda
(Gord) Vivian of Mitchell and Judy
(Todd) Parslow of Windsor. He was
the loving grandfather of Darryl
Dixon (Joan), Derek Dixon, Scott
Dixon (Jenn), Tim Vivian and
Jessica Casler. He was the loving
great-grandfather of Nathan, Trevor,
Mackenzie, Julia, Maddison and
Bryce.
Orville was the dear brother-in-
law of Donna (Burnell) Kipfer of
Stratford. Also surviving are many
nieces and nephews.
Orville was predeceased by his
parents Frank and Flora (McPhail)
Kelland, brothers Lloyd (Ella)
Kelland and Jack (Velma) Kelland,
sister Elva (Jack) Finch, a brother
and sister in infancy, grandson
Aaron Cousins and sisters-in-law
Dorothy Schultz and Kathleen
(Elton) Ehgoetz.
Friends were received at the
Lockhart Funeral Home, 109
Montreal St., Mitchell on Thursday,Feb. 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.where the funeral service was held
on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev.
Camillia LaRouche officiating.
Memorial donations to Main St.
United Church would be

CAROL LOUISE
MACCROSTIE
Carol Louise MacCrostie of
Lucknow, passed away at Wingham
and District Hospital on Feb. 14,
2009 in her 75th year.
She is survived by her sister
Marie Toll of Blyth and her aunt,
Dorothy McKenzie of Huronlea.
She is lovingly remembered by
several nieces and nephews: Cheryl
and Tom Cronin, Vaughn and
Marlene Toll, Avon and Al Corneil,
all of Blyth; Kerry and Greer Black
of Calgary, Dale and Hope
MacCrostie of Bervie, and Annette
McKellar of Victoria, B.C. She willbe sadly missed by many great- andgreat-great nieces and nephews.
Carol was predeceased by her
parents William MacCrostie and
Myrtle (Webster), her brothers
Hugh and Ronald, her sister-in-law
Amy MacCrostie, brother-in-law
Aubrey Toll and nephew Terry
McKellar.
A private funeral service was held
at MacKenzie and McCreath
Funeral Homes, Lucknow Chapel
with Rev. Gary Clark officiating.
Memorial donations were to
Huron Women’s Shelter Second
Stage Housing and to the ACW
Township (St. Helen’s Hall).
Spring interment will be in
Greenhill Cemetery.
Carol’s steadfast commitment to
her family, many friends and
community will be profoundly
missed.
