She likes to hang out with friends, plays soccer and enjoys dance class, drama and gym. Shalyn is a student at John Diefenbaker Secondary School in Hanover and is considering a career as a massage therapist. Shalyn is the Canadian National Champion in kickboxing, junior division. She captured that title at the national competition in Burlington in late January. She hopes to represent Canada at the world competition in France in September. Shalyn has been kickboxing for three years and trains for two hours a day. Her father, Terry Sulkye, teaches kickboxing and that’s how Shalyn got involved. Shalyn is the great - granddaughter of MarieGlousher and the daughter ofDeanna (Heffron) Sulkye.
