Press Reporter
The second meeting of the Grey
Twp. Snickerdoodle 4-H club was
held at the home of Tracey Swart on
Saturday, Jan. 31.
Members started by saying the 4-
H pledge. Roll call was to name a
favourite muffin and Jayden, the
secretary, took attendance.
The leaders said members were
going to make bran muffins, but they
would be adding an ingredient that
was not in the recipe, raisins.
The leaders explained the “muffin
method”.
One group made the bran muffin
recipe out of the 4-H book, one
group made a bran muffin recipe
with bran flakes, and the last group
used a bran muffin mix. While the
muffins were cooking members
played a judging card game called
Apples to Apples. They talked about
substituting ingredients like whole
wheat flour, healthier oils,
applesauce, fruit and nuts to make
muffins healthier.
The secretary read the minutes of
the last meeting. Then the group
taste tested.
