his side on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at
Seaforth Community Hospital. Born
in Grey Twp. on Nov. 28, 1922,
Charlie was in his 87th year.
Charlie was the beloved husband
of the late Laura (Ellacott) Fischer
and will be sadly missed by his
children Dianne Bray and her
husband Don of Brussels and Don
Fischer and his wife Darlene of
RR3, Brussels. He was the loving
grandfather to Tracey Swart and her
husband Mark of RR3, Brussels,
Korey Bray of Toronto and Kendra
Snyder and her husband Matt of
Brussels and great-grandfather to
Matthew, Alida, Jenna, Seth and
Colin. Charlie was also loved by his
sister Velma Ellacott of Kitchener,
sisters-in-law Muriel Howlett and
Bob of Cambridge and Marguerite
Fischer of Bluevale and brother-in-
law Howard Ellacott and Audrey of
Listowel.
He was predeceased by his
brothers Wilfrid, Jack, Bill, George
and Ken, his sister Elsie Thuell and
daughter-in-law Linda.
Friends were received by the
family from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
Monday at the Schimanski Family
Funeral Home, Brussels, where the
service was conducted on Tuesday,
Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. officiated by Pastor
Brent Kipfer of Brussels Mennonite
Fellowship.
A remembrance of Charlie was
given by his granddaughter Tracey
Swart. Jesus Loves Me was
performed on the piano by great-granddaughter Alida accompaniedby her sister Jenna and Pastor Kipfer
read a letter written by great-
grandson Matthew to his Papa.
Pallbearers were Emerson
Mitchell, Neil Mitchell, Murray
Fischer, Ken Van Beek, Leslie
Perrie, Harold Bridge and Harvey
Kitchen.
Spring interment will be in
Brussels Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to
Town and Country Support Services,
Brussels Mennonite Fellowship or
the Lung Association.

GERTRUD LOEFFLER
Gertrud Loeffler passed away on
Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at her
daughter Gabriele’s residence in
Brussels.
Gertrud resided in Morningside
Village, New Hamburg. She was
born 80 years ago in Kuldiga, Latvia
and was the daughter of the late
Alexander and Kaethe (Frobeen)
Schiemann.
Gertrud was the beloved wife of
Albert Loeffler whom she married
June 25, 1960. She was the loving
mother of Gabriele and Christian
Boettcher of Brussels,Anne Loeffler
of New Hamburg, and Andrea and
Holger von Weyhe of Kitchener. She
was the dear Omama of Erik,
Martin, Olaf, Peter, Ingrid and Karl.
Gertud will be sadly missed by her
sister Lisa Dickey of Quesnel, B.C.
and sister-in-law Anneliese Loefflerof Germany.Gertrud was predeceased by her
sister Ursel Kommer-Schiemann and
sister-in-law Gertrud Arnold.
Gertrud was a long-time active
member and pillar of the Canadian
Baltic Immigrant Aid Society.
Gertrude loved children. After
training as a kindergarten teacher in
Germany, she taught for many years
at the Concordia German Language
School in Kitchener.
Family and friends called at the
Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291
Huron St., New Hamburg on
Saturday, Jan. 24 from 1 - 3 and 7 -
9 p.m.
A memorial service to celebrate
Gertrud’s life took place at the
funeral home on Monday, Jan. 26 at
2 p.m. with Paster Tanya Ramer
officiating. Cremation has occurred.
Private spring interment will be in
St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery,
Wellesley Twp.
As expressions of sympathy,
donations may be made to the Baltic

PIERRE OMER JACOBUS
RAMMELOO
Pierre Omer Jacobus Rammeloo
passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21,
2009 after a courageous battle with
Alzheimer’s at the Seaforth Manor
Nursing Home. Born in the
Netherlands on Aug. 24, 1928,
Pierre was in his 81st year.
Pierre was the beloved husband of
Marie (Van Raay) of Brussels. Hewas the loving father of Raymondand Wilma of Blyth, Vivian Bere of
Thorndale, Perry and Lori of British
Columbia, Danica and Jim
McNichol of Seaforth, Lisa and
Kevin Dutot of Brucefield,
Jacqueline and Graham Fry of
Toronto and Corrie and Doug
Sholdice of Brussels. Pierre was also
loved by his 16 grandchildren, four
great-grandchildren, three brothers,
four sisters, two brothers-in-law and
four sisters-in-law, their spouses and
families.
He was predeceased by his son
Wayne in 1974 and his son-in-law
Reid in 2008.
A funeral mass was celebrated on
Saturday, Jan. 24 from St. Ambrose
Roman Catholic Church, Brussels,
by Father John B. Johnson.
Pallbearers were Jim McNichol,
Doug Sholdice, Kevin Dutot,
Graham Fry, Michael McNichol and
Jeffery Rammeloo.
Spring interment will be at St.
Michael’s Cemetery, Municipality of
Morris-Turnberry.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to
the Alzheimer Society of Ontario or
to the charity of one’s choice.

MURRAY UNDERWOOD
Murray Underwood of Wingham,
passed away at Huronlea on
Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009. He was 73.
Murray was the beloved husband
of the former Merle Gowdy. He was
the dear father of Mark Underwoodand Vikki Dennis of Wingham andCheryl and Darren Faber of
Gravenhurst. He was the loving
grandfather of Ryan Underwood.
Murray was the brother of Alan and
Marion Underwood of Kincardine
and brother-in-law of Margaret
Underwood of Gorrie,Alice and Bill
Kipp and Muriel and Murray Dale,
all of London.
His parents Wesley and Edna
(Harris) Underwood and a brother
Glenn Underwood predeceased him.
Visitation was at McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham on
Saturday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
The funeral service was held at St.
Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on
Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Bernard
Skelding officiated.
Interment will be in Wingham
Cemetery.
Memorial donations to St.
Andrew’s Church, the Alzheimer
Society of Huron County or
Wingham Adult Day Centre would
be appreciated as expressions of
sympathy.
