The Blyth Novice Rep Bulldogs
travelled up Hwy. 4 to play their
counterparts in Wingham, Saturday,
Jan. 24.
Blyth fell behind when Wingham
opened the scoring, however
answered back with their own goal
to tie it.
Wingham added two more before
Blyth started a comeback. The
locals scored the next four in a row
to take a 5-3 lead heading into the
final minutes. Blyth continued
keeping the puck out of their end
and controlled the play to hang on to
the victory.
Blyth arena was the place to be
when the Blyth Kings took on their
local rivals from Seaforth Jan. 24.
Blyth’s defence helped to clear the
ball out of their end thanks to the
lineup of Murray Dale, Zach Drost,
Brodie Grummett-Nairn, Scott
Jefferson, Tyler O’Rourke, Jordon
Reinink and Kalvin
VanMassenhoven.
Bryce Glousher stood strong in net
and earned a shutout for his
team.
This was a very close game with
lots of action up and down the ice.
Both teams received one penalty
during the game and no one was able
to take advantage of the powerplay.
After no score in regular play the
coaches agreed to four minutes of
overtime practice. Just over two
minutes into overtime Seaforth
snuck around Blyth to score the
winning goal.
