passed away at Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital, Goderich on
Friday, Dec. 26, 2008. She was in
her 74th year.
Mrs. Brown was the beloved wife
of John Brown. She was the loving
mother of Elaine and Eldon
Chamney of Auburn, and Sharon
Brown of Goderich. She was the
dear sister and sister-in-law of
Gordon and Bernice Gross and
Carmen and Christena Gross, all of
Auburn, Alexandra Gross of St.
Catharines, Bernice Gross of
Clinton and Marguerite Gross of
Goderich. Elva will also be missed
by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her
brothers Walter, Ron, Clayton and
Harold Gross.
Friends were received at the Blyth
Visitation Centre of the Falconer
Funeral Homes, 407 Queen St.,
Blyth on Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 2 -
4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service
was held at Blyth United Church,
Mill Street on Wednesday, Dec. 31
at 2 p.m. Rev. Sandra Cable and
Rev. Gary Clark officiated.
Honorary pallbearers were Boyd
Taylor and Bill Young. Pallbearers
were Bryan Gross, John Nixon,
Scott Allen, Don Bere, Charlie
Shobbrook and Terry Richmond.
Morningstar Rebekah Lodge #315
Brussels service was held on
Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Spring interment will be in Blyth
Union Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathymemorial donations to the CanadianCancer Society or the Huron County
CT Scanner Fund would be greatly
appreciated.
LILLIE PEACHEY
Lillie Peachey passed away
suddenly at Victoria Hospital,
London on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008.
She resided in Brussels and was
born 54 years ago in Listowel, a
daughter of Lillian (Diamond)
Illman of Mitchell and the late
Frank Illman.
Lillie was a member of the
Listowel Horticultural Society. She
especially enjoyed caring for the
beautiful roses in her gardens and
was also an animal lover.
Lillie will be remembered for her
caring and personal service at Zehr’s
Pharmacy in Listowel.
Lillie was the beloved wife of
Tony Peachey whom she married in
1971 and loving mother of Richard
and his wife Donna of Brussels,
Jerry of Monkton, Matthew and his
wife Karie of Guelph. She was the
special grandma of Cassidy and
Dawson. She was the dear sister of
Rose White, Fern and Paul Maedel,
Ross Illman, Bob and Barb Illman,
Ted and Judy Illman, Joyce and Jon
Deslippe, Donna Gropp and friend
Clem, and Neil Illman. Lillie will
also be remembered by many
nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her
brother Douglas.
Lillie’s family invited relatives
and friends to share their memories
at the Brenneman Funeral Home,141 John St., Atwood, on Monday,Dec. 22 from 5 - 8 p.m. and on
Tuesday, Dec. 23 from 3 - 7 p.m.
The funeral service was held on
Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor
Richard Hryniw officiating.

Cancer Society would be

Ina Grace Finlayson of Seaforth
passed away on Monday, Dec. 29,
2008 at Seaforth Community
Hospital in her 66th year.
Ina (Scott) Finlayson was the
beloved wife of Reginald Finlayson
and dear mother of Mike and Joy
Finlayson and loved grandmother of
Tanya and Kenny McNichol, Sarah
Hammond, Robin Hammond, Cody
Roetcisoender, and Jesse
Roetcisoender and great-
grandmother of Hailey McNichol.
She was the loved daughter of Hazel
Scott, Exeter and sister of Dorothy
and Doug Eyre, St. Thomas; Anna
Scott and friend Frank Demay,
London and Agnes and Wayne
Akins, St. Thomas. She is also
survived by sisters and brothers-in-
law Laird and Ruby Finlayson,
Seaforth; Gary and Irene Finlayson,
Egmondville; Murray and Carol
Finlayson, Exeter; Bryan and
Brenda Finlayson, Walton and JimMelville, London.Ina was predeceased by her father
Gordon Scott, sister Frances
Melville and mother- and father-in-
law Lorne and Irene Finlayson.
Friends were received at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, 87
Goderich St. W., Seaforth on Friday,
Jan. 2 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
The funeral service was held at
the funeral home on Jan. 3 at 11
a.m.
Interment will be in Maitlandbank
Cemetery, Seaforth.

MARJORIE JEAN IRWIN
Marjorie Irwin of Wingham
passed away at Wingham and
District Hospital on Wednesday,
Dec. 24, 2008. She was 53.
Marjorie was the dear mother of
Michael and April and Richard and
Nicole and grandmother of Myles,
all of Belgrave. She was the loving
daughter of Jean Swanson of
Wingham and sister of Linda and
Grant Rumble of Lucknow, Susan
Swanson and Gary McCabe of
Bowness, Alberta, Ken and Debbie
Swanson and Rick and Heather
Swanson of Wingham and William
Dowson in Bulgaria.
Marjorie was predeceased by her
father Arthur Swanson, infant
brother John Arthur and stepfather
Eric Dowson.
Visitation was at McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham on
Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 1 - 2 p.m.
Memorial services were held atMcBurney Funeral Home Chapel onTuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Perry
Chuipka officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
