Livin’ it up
Sure we complain, but when it comes down to it, Canadians all love the snow, for the most
part. The first day back to school for 2009 was a cold one, but that didn’t take the fun out of
recess. The sliding hill was a particularly busy attraction on Monday’s first recess at Blyth
Public School, but parking in the snow just below it, waiting for people to slide down was
equally fulfilling, just ask Greg McDonald, left, Reece Sparling, centre, and Bailey Bos. (Shawn

Ryan O’Reilly of the OHL’s ErieOtters, came out to practise Dec. 22
with the Blyth PeeWee team.
O’Reilly from Varna, home on his
Christmas break, took time to skate
with the Bulldogs. O’Reilly showed
the boys some great hand and stick
work during the shootout portion of
the practice.
O’Reilly was selected first overall
by the Otters in the 2007 OHL
Priority Section. He played for
Team Ontario at the U-17
tournament in London in December
2007, and also for Team Canada in
the U-18 tournament this past fall,
winning gold medals at both.
