Mrs, Popp, president, opened the meeting and introduced Rev. L. S. Lewis who brought an inspiring Christmas message to the Institute members. "The Christmas Story" was the theme, and he read scrip- ture from Good news for modern man, This is a tremen- dous story of love and brings to us the Spirit of peace, love and good will, We only too often find that after Christmas is over it is thrown out like our dried Christmas tree. It is a tremendous and revealing, story. Even when Jesus was born people were rushing to pay their taxes and had no time for the Babe in Bethlehem. Today we too rush around and forget the true meaning of Christmas. God wanted to reveal himself to mankind. We find his real importance in the man of Calvary. The event links birth, life, suffering, the Cross and Resurrection all in one. We could have no Christmas story otherwise. Each year it is born anew in our hearts, his life a ransom for our sins. In the absence of the secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Groves read the minutes and gave the treasurer's report. Thirty-seven members an- swered the roll call. A card party is being plan- ned for Tuesday, Jan. 16th in the Town Hall at 2 p.m. There will be a draw for baskets of groceries. Mrs. C. There were delegates from 146 Institutes, Membership to A.C.W.W. was hoped to reach 500.
