Church On Sunday. morning, Decem- ber 10, the church was fittingly decorated with the Inn, baby and cradle and the traditional Christmas decorations when the White Gift service was held. The carol and pageant, "Come and Adore Hirai"', presented by the Junior. and Senior choirs and Sunday School students, Welcoming into, the sanc- tuary were Jack Medd and Lloyd Pipe. Ushers were Ken Longman, Wayne Lyon, Tom Pollard), Brian Miller, Kevin and 'Keith Howatt. Leading the music were organist, Mrs. Harry Lear, senior choir leader; pianist, Mrs. Tom Mien; Junior choir leader, Mrs, Allan Rosman with Louise Lovett at the piano. Soloists were Miss Betty Snell, Mr. Harry Lear and Audrey Peel. The Snell Trio sang"Glory to God in the Highest" and a French carol, The narrator was Mr. Gary Jewitt, voice of scripture by Rev. S. McDonald, Mrs. Reg, Lawson, Mrs. Gary Jewitt and Mr. Jim Jamieson. The Ministry of Action were, Joseph, Bobby Penfound; Mary, Sally Pollard; Elizabeth, Susan Jamieson; the innkeeper, Kevin Fothergill; the angels, Brenda Millar, Shelly Westerhout, Joyce Sewers, Kathy Radford, Rose Mason, Diana Shobbrook, Carol Cart- wright; the shepherds, Bruce Vincent, Bob Jamieson and Neil Cartwright; the wise men, John Lawson, Cameron Moon, Warren Miley, The Junior choir entered on the processional hymn, "0 Come all you Faithful". Those helping with the preparations were: property, Gordon Shobbrook, Mr. and Mrs. John Pollard and Mac Sewers; wardrobe, Edythe Beacom, Mrs. Murray Lyon, Mrs, Tom Duizer, Mrs, Tillie Westerhout, Mrs. Nelson McClure, Mrs. Ross Lovett, Mrs. Mac Sewers. The Property Committee wishes to acknowledge the loan of properties for the pageant from Mr. Lloyd Tasker of the Tasker Funeral Home and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bainton of Bainton's Factory Outlet, both of Biyth. HI-C LOndesboro Hi-C met on Sunday evening with their counsellors Rob and Donna Shaddick. The study, under the direction of Ken Jewitt was "The Psychology of Living". During the business session, the election of officers for 1973 took place with the following elected: Marsha McNeil, Joanne Gibson, Louise Lovett, Ken and Larry Jewitt. Due to exams, the recreation night has been postponed to December 28. CUBS The First Londesboro Cub Pack met on Tuesday evening with a good attendance. The study for the evening was how to read a road map. -The next meeting will be in charge of resource leader, Jack Lee who will take the study on hockey. UCW POT LUCK SUPPER • off- Monday evening, Decem- ber 4;34 Members of the UCW , attended a pot luck supper' Christmas ,meeting in the church hall. President Margaret Whyte welcomed everyone. Rev. McDonald said Grace and after supper, led in prayer, The minutes of the last meeting were read and thank- you letters from the family of Robert Watson, Mrs. Mabel Scott, June Fothergill and Kevin Burr were read, as well as regrets frern Clinton Wesley- Willis and Auburn United Churches who were not able to attend Fall Thankoffering; a letter from Doris Batkin, Clin- ton with ten petitions to be signed to abolish commercial advertising of alcoholic beverages. Favourable reports were received from the dif- ferent conveners: financial, Hattie Wood; supply, Ida Pur- ilia; visitation, Ena Howatt; buying, Dora Shobbrook, Ena Howatt for the nominating committee reported that Nona Pipe would fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Isabel Scanlon. Margaret Whyte thanked the flower committee, Shirley Lyon, Dora Shobbrook and Pearl Hamilton. A card and gift will be sent to Pearl Hamilton in appreciation of supplying the flowers. Mrs. Whyte also thanked past presidents, Margaret Anderson and Gladys Gourley, secretary, Marjorie Duizer and Gail Lear, Program convener, Gail thanked Margaret for her leadership. Gail Lear presented the following program: reading, "Everywhere, Everywhere Christmas To-night". A verse of.several Christmas carols was sung followed by Christmas custom in various countries, A demonstration on. Christmas decorations was given by Nona Pipe. She displayed many lovely articles. Rev. McDonald gave the Christmas message on the beginning of Christmas costumes in many lands, ending with "Love, This is Christ- mas". The meeting closed with "Joy to the World" and "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" and prayer by Rev, McDonald. Margaret Whyte thanked and presented Mr. McDonald and Nona Pipe each with a gift. AIMWELL UNIT Over 100 people attended the Aimwell Unit family Christ- mas party on December 10 at the church. A sing-song of Christmas Carols began the evening with Gail Lear at the piano John Lawson gave a recitation, "Christmas Fibs". Barbara Glousher and Golda Sewers sang "Silver Bells". Bob Thompson played a piano solo, followed by a reading by Dennis Fothergill. Tvari ,flunking, Audrey and Cathy Peel accompanied by Donna flunking, sang "Silver Balls" and "We wish you a Merry Christmas", Marjorie Duizer thanked Ruth Vincent for her two years as president, also Audrey Thompson and Helen Lawson who are retiring as treasurer and secretary. A number of games were played involving all those present. Darrell Shobbrook, Danny and David Lear entertained with accordian, guitar and maracas, also vocally. Brenda Millar gave a reading, "'The Little Lights of Christmas"; David Whyte gave a Merry Christmas wish. Bob and Sharon Thompson, Bryan McClure and Steven Jewitt sang "Up on a Rooftop". Laurel, Lisa and Stephen Duizer sang "Away in a Manager". "Jingle Bells" was sung announcing the arrival of Santa Claus who gave candy to the children. Gail Lear thanked Carolyn Thompson and her committee for the wonderful evening's en- tertainment, PERSONALS Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Clare Vincent on the arrival of their first grandchild, a boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Vincent of Goderich in Wingham Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Carl McDonald of Ethel were dinner guests at the Manse on Sunday and also attended the carol and pageant service in Londesboro church on Sunday morning. Rev. McDonald was guest at the wedding dinner and also conducted the wedding of Mr. Ronald Elliott and Miss Gail Millar in Auburn United Church on Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Robert Scott of Seaforth spent the weekend with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Gross and Larry. Mr. and Mrs, Bill Cowan and Greg spent Sunday with the former's mother, Mrs. J. Cowan. Mr. and Mrs. David Lee have rented the apartment of Mr. and Mrs, J. Johnston. We welcome them to the village., Mrs. Margaret Govier of Goderich visited on Saturday with Mrs, Lillie Webster and Mr. Will Govier. Kris LaWs of Seaforth spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Buchanan, Bill, Doug, Betty and Bob. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Scott of Parkhill were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Presz- cator, Billy, Debbie and Michael. Mr. and Mrs. Art McMichael, Rhonda, Jeff and Scott of Goderich spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ken Thompson and Joanne. They also visited on Sunday with the John Thomp- son family and the George •McIlwain family. The Foresters Family Bowling fun-night will be held on Sunday evening December 17 at Nobles Bowling Lanes. Mr. and Mrs. John Fisher (Melody Campbell) of Huron Park visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Sam McClure and family. The hall was decorated in a Christmas setting when the Canadian Foresters held their annual Family night on Friday evening December eighth with 95 sitting down to an enjoyable ham supper.
