holding 4,13 'Homemaking. Club
The fifth meeting of the Clin,
ton 11 Shish-Ka-Babes was held
at Mrs. Jenkin's Place and
everyone watched as Glenna,
Susan, and I mixed the egg
scramble, Connie and Cathy
buttered and prepared toast, We
discussed the different additions
to lunches and how to wrap or
carry each in and we decided to
make fancy sandwiches and
punch at our next meeting.
We also discussed the topic of
our exhibit and what to put on
the headband. At the closing of
the meeting we ate delicious
western sandwiches and punch.
The Clinton 11 Shish-Ka-
Babes held their sixth meeting
on Oct. 25. At this meeting we
thoroughly discussed seven
points to consider when meal
planning. Karen Tyndall and
Louise Lovett made fancy sand-
wiches containing mint jelly,
salmon and cheese whiz. They
tasted delicious along with a

The treasurer Glenna Ellis,
reported that the club still
possessed $19.77 with which we
must buy goodies for the buffet
supper held at our last meeting,

Clinton 11 Shish,Ka,Babes was
held at Mrs. Ellis' place on Nov,

hand-out sheets. For our buffet
supper next meeting everyone is
going to bring something and it
will be held at Mrs. Jenkins'
Place and after tidying up dishes
we will go bowling. Our mothers
are to be invited.
We decided that the fourth
books should be handed in by
Nov. 20, At the end of our
discussion at the meeting, Karen
Tyndall and Louise proceeded
to make a chocolate , fondue.
Along with the fondue we
sampled a variety of things such
as bananas, marshmallows,
cake and cherries. It was
delicious and everyone enjoyed
it.

appetizing and nutritious for the
lighter meal of the day lunch
or supper, Cheese fondues, bar-
becues, casseroles, sandwiches
and pizza are all part of this

Unit IV of Hensall U.C.W.
met on Thursday afternoon at
the Church with the leader Mrs.
J. McAllister presiding. The
meeting opened with Matthew
5-9, Blessed are the
peacemakers for they shall be
called the children of God, in
honour of Armistice Day and
the hope for a peaceful set-
tlement in Vietnam. Mrs.
Roobal gave the devotional
from psalm 121, Mrs. Eric
Luther used as her theme "His
name is wonderful" for an in-
spiring topic. Three hymns were
sung with Mrs. Sherritt accom-
panying. Musical numbers,
"Whispering Hope", and "How
Great Thou Art" were given by
Mrs. Grace Harpole.
The ladies decided to do
quilting again and Mrs. T.
Sherritt gave the treasurer
report. Mrs. J. Ferguson and
Mrs. E. Pym, the hostesses took
up the offering. Mrs. E. Chip-
chase and her committee served
lunch.
The 1972 slate of officers were
returned for 1973--They are;
leaders, Mrs. J. McAllister and
Mrs. R. Errat; secretary, Mrs.
H. Caldwell, Mrs. Joe Flynn;
treasurers, Mrs. T. Sherritt, Mrs.
G. Armstrong; pianists, Mrs. L.
Mickle, Mrs. T. Sherritt; social
functions, Mrs. H. Caldwell.
EXPLORERS MEET
The Explorer Group" of Car-
mel Presbyterian Church met
October 29 in the Church
basement. The roll call was
called by Brenda Campbell and
was answered by 11 members.
Susan Stretton took up the of-
fering.
The first part of the meeting
was devoted to India, with In-
dian jewellery and former Prime
Minister Ghandi being
discussed. Ecclesiastes Chapter
3 was read by everyone. The
origin of Halloween was
discussed, also the present day
Halloween tricks. The next
meeting will be November 19 at
11:15 a.m.
AMBER REBEKAH LODGE
The regular meeting of Amber
Rebekah Lodge was held Wed-
nesday evening with N.G. Mrs,
Stewart Blackwell presiding,
assisted by V.G. Mrs, Clarence
Volland. The flag was presented
and placed into position, and
Lodge opened in regular form.
Minutes of the previous meeting
were read and approved.
It was reported that a
donation had been made to the
GN,LB., and to the Childreris
Aid Society at Goderich, Final
arrangements were made for the
Euchre to be held Friday

The fall meeting of the Huron
Presbyterial Women's
Missionary Society of the
Presbyterian Church in Canada
was held last week at Carmel.
Presbyterial Church, Hensall.
President Mrs. John Pollock
of Goderich was in charge of the
evening, November 17, in the
Lodge rooms. A number of
members offered to donate the
prizes for this Euchre.
At the Sunday morning Ser-
vice of Worship in Hensall
United Church, Rev. Don Beck
preached on the sermon topic
"To be or not to be". Two
babies received the rights of
baptism, they were Duane
Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Kyle, and Stephen
Richard, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Steve Kyle.The choir sang the
anthem "Father of the Human
Family" taken from the new
hymn book.
PERSONALS
Miss Gwen McLean, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Ken McLean,
Hensall, received her Registered
Nursing Diploma recently from
the College of Nursing in
Toronto. Miss McLean is
presently on, the ,staff, of the
Psychiatric Hospital Goderich:
Mrs. Albert Alexander spent
two weeks recently visiting with
Rev. and Mrs. Currie Winlaw
and family of Stratford.

which will be held in Goderich.
The devotional period was in
charge of the W.M.S. at
Seaforth Mrs. R. Waddell read
the scripture lesson from
Phillipians, 4th chapter and
gave meditation on same. Mrs,
W. R. Kerslake closed with
prayer.
Mrs. Pollock introduced the
guest speaker, Miss Ida White,
medical missionary from India.
She gave an interesting account
of her work among the Indian
people. Mrs. Enwright thanked
her for her inspiring message.
A duet was sung by Mrs. W.
Dougal and Mrs. Harold Bell of
Hensall accompanied on the
piano by Mrs. Ed Munn. The of-
fering was received by Mrs. M.
Dunbar and Mrs. G. Nicolson of
Belgrave and dedicated.

Mr. and Mrs. George Walker
of Belgrave visited relatives and
friends in the village last
Friday.
Friends in this district are
happy to hear of a promotion
for Rev. Robert Meally now of
Ireland but formerly rector at
the parish of Auburn, Blyth and
Belgrave. Rev. Mr. Meally has
been made governor of the
Royal school of Cavan which is
a church secondary school foun-
ded in 1611 and has also been
made a member of the
Diocesan Council which runs
the affairs of the Diocese and
also a member of the Missionary
Council of the Church of
England.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Strong of
Windsor spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Arthur
and Miss Jayne Arthur.
Mr, and Mrs. Andrew Kirk-
connell attended the graduation
of their granddaughter, Miss
Faye Blake of Brussels at
Seaforth last Friday evening
from Grade 13.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Holtby of
Belmont and Mr. and Mrs. Ken-
neth Monck of London visited
last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Ed Davies.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kirk-
connell visited on Sunday with
thier daughter Mrs. Louis

daughters. The occasion was an
18th birthday party for Miss
Mary Anne Blake.
