HORTON—In loving memory of
our brother Fred who passed away 1
year ago, November 2, 1971,
To a beautiful life came a sudden
end,
He died, as he lived, everyone's
friend,
He was always thoughtful, loving
and kind,
What a glorious memory to leave
behind,
He left so suddenly, his thoughts
unknoWii,
But he left us memories we are
proud to own,
Treasure him, God, in your garden
of rest,
For when on earth, he was one of
the best.
Sadly missed by sister Flora and
brother-in-law, Bob,—g44
CONNELLY—In loving memory of
a dear father and grandfather, John
Connelly who passed away 3 years
ago, November 5, 1969.
Dear father, since you've gone away,
The ones you loved so true,
Try hard to carry on the way,
We know you'd want us to.
Sadly missed and ever remembered
by his children and grand-
children.—g44x
WILSON—In loving memory of Joe
Wilson who passed away three years
ago, November 7, 1969.
Softly the leaves of memory fade
Gently we gather and treasure them
all.
Unseen, unheard, he is always near,
Still missed, still loved, forever dear.
Remembered always by wife and
family.—g44x
CRADDOCK—In loving memory of
a dear husband and father, John
Craddock, who passed away one
year ago, November 2, 1971.
In the graveyard softly sleeping,
Where the flowers gently wave,
Lies the one we loved so dearly
In his lonely silent grave.
Never will he be forgotten,
Never will his memory fade
'Sweetest thoughts will ever linger
'Round the spot where he is laid.
Sadly missed Iry wife and.
family.—g44c

Seniors lose
to Listowel
BY GEORGE BROWN
The Senior Football Redmen
suffered a disappointing 21.7
loss to the senior team of
Listowel on Thursday, October
28. This home loss was the
second in a row for the Redmen
and leaves them with a 4-3 win-
loss record at the end of the
regular season, Central Huron's
only major score came as a con-
verted touchdown by Jerry Lobb
on a pass play.
The loss was particularly
discouraging in that a number
of fine sequences ended in an
inability to move the ball across
the goalline. Hopes still ran
high, however, as the Redmen
move back to Listowel on
Tuesday, October 31 for a sud-
den death semi-final against the
same team, Should they win, a
Huron-Perth championship
could still be salvaged in the
final.
It is unfortunate that the ad-
ministration is so firmly entren-
ched against the practice of
allowing a set number, of spec-
tators to attend away-from-
home games, and in doing so,
provide this team with some
support.
Hockey begins

test between Sifto Salt and

pionship last year.
The new season will get into
high gear as the third and
fourth games take place in Clin-
ton on Tuesday with
Holmesville playing DRMCO

Last Thursday Oct. 26, the
CHSS boys' volleyball teams
travelled to Mitchell to compete
in the Huron-Perth Champion-
ships. The Seniors placed
fourth, not as high as they had
hoped. Fortunately, the Juniors
placed third and get a chance to
play at the WOSSA tournament
in the near future.
The Seniors had trouble with
the top three Perth County
teams and lost these games to'
tough opposition. Clinton, beat
Goderich and Exeter proving
that they were still the best

Since CHSS is in the, AA
division, the Junior boys
qualified for WOSSA. The mor-
ning of the tournament went
well with Clinton winning five
games and losing only one. They
beat Seaforth twice, won one
and lost a game with Mitchell,
and defeated Goderich twice.
After lunch the Juniors came up
against a strong Listowel team
'and lost both games. The final
set was with Stratford North-
western who managed to defeat
CHSS in two close games. At
the end of the day the Juniors
had won 5' and lost 5 games.
