Preparing for the Municipal elections in
December, the members of 1VIcKillop Township
Council Monday studied the changes in the
Municipal Act.
Council also accepted the following tenders
for snow removal this winter: Ryan Bulldozing
(with grader) $13 per hour; Lawrence Ryan
(snowblower) $12,50 per hour; Kenneth Glan-
ville (snowblower, $12,50 per hour; and Neil
McNichol (snowblower) $12, per hour. Standby
time for all tenders is $10 per clay for all four
submitting tenders, commencing December 1,

Seaforth Mayor Frank Sills, Huron's mem-
ber on Conestoga's board of governors said
that the Centre would enable the youth of
Huron County "to live and learn at home."
"Huron County's greatest export is brains," he

The official opening of the Huron Centre will
take place at a later date.

permits totalling $203,800 have been issued to
date for 1972.
Councillor Gozzard informed the meeting
that he had been given a littering box which he

In other business at the session which con-
tinued until 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Council'
authorized the Clerk to apply for interim road
subsidy on expenditures of $83,831.11 and
passed for payment were the accbunts in-
cluding the road account of $23,685.81.

OBITUARY
Passed away at Queensway
Nursing Home, Hensall, Mon-
day, October 2, 1972, Mrs. Carol
Stoneman, the former Gertrude
Mitchell in her 75th year.
Surviving are one son Benson,
R.R.2 Staffa, two grandsons,
two sisters, Mrs. Olive Horton
aod Mrs. Edna Traquair, Hen-
sall, one bgother, Stanley Mit-
chell, R.R.1, Hensel]. Her
husband Carl predeceased her
one year ago this month,

Council passed provisionally the by-law on the
Black Creek drain (Twp. of Hay drain). This
concerns fifty properties in the Township of
Tuckersrriith at an estimated cost to them of
$2,560. The estimated cost of the whole drain is
$32,139. Court of Revision will be held on
November 7, 1972 at 9 p.m.
Council accepted the tender of Gordon
Heard Construction of RR 2 Seaforth for snow
removal with a 777 grader at $15.50 an hour,
The township`will use its own two graders as
well for snow removal of the one hundred
miles of township roads.
Clerk McIntoah reviewed changes in the
Clection Act noting that municipal elections
will be held December 4 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
with advance polls on November 27 and
December 2 at the same hours. He said a proxy
vote will also be possible if arranged for ahead
of time with him.
Council will hold its next meeting on October
'17, 1972.
