Mr. and Mrs, Stanley

olden wedding on Saturday,
ugust 26, The celebration took
lace on the lawn of the Jackson
omestead, first occupied by

Mr. and Mrs. James Jackson,
Stanley Jackson took over a
arm property near Canfield
Jct., Ontario in 1921. He met his
bride-to-be while working that
day with a threshing outfit, at
the home of her parents, near
Cayuga, Ont, By coincidence,
both Stanley and Marion had a
birthday that day and exactly
one year later, on September 9,
1922, they were married. They

George, Edna (Mrs, Jim
Neweombe) and Ruth, all of
London.
They took over the Jackson
homestead on the 2nd of
Stanley in 1937, and have
farmed there quite successfully
ever since. The golden wedding
celebration was held early to
enable a larger attendance. All
the sons and daughters, their
husbands and wives, and all 12
grandchildren were present. Six
of Stanley's seven brothers and
sisters survive, and four of them
were able to come, Dr. and Mrs.
Clarence Jackson of Naples,
Florida came the farthest, Dr.
W. J. Spence Jackson of
Toronto, Miss Hare) Jackson of
Washington, Pennsylvania and
Zetta, (Mrs. D. Gardiner) of
Ventnor N.J. also came to offer
congratulations and renew old
acquaintances in the Clinton
area.
The lawn party was pleasant
for all as nearly all the friends
and relations were well
acquainted. Seventy-two names
appeared in the guest book at
the day's end. When, asked for
comments, Stanley and Marion
merely smiled; they expect to
continue to farm for the
forseeable future, taking each
day as it comes.
