The home economists, Agriculture Canada, Ottawa have the following recommendations for barbecuing beef steaks, based on recent testing. They suggest using beef steaks at least one inch thick for best results. Snip Summer in Canada is a time to enjoy our fresh fruits at their best. One of the most succulent, delicate fruits, that can be enjoyed both in elaborate desserts or fresh out-of-hand, is sweet cherries. Originally all cherries were so sour that they were in fact strictly "for the birds". Pour over meat and allow to stand 1 hour, or refrigerate overnight, turning occasionally, Makes about 1 1/4 cups.
