Goderich, with Rev. Clarence McClenaghan of Dungannon officiating. The bride is the former
Maura Sheardown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Watson Sheardown, Trenton. The groom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Clarke, Angus. Following a honeymoon in Niagara Falls, the

Brenda Allin, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Clive Allin, Goderich,
was wed to George
Vanderburgh, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Vanderburgh,
Goderich, Saturday, July 8 at
3:00 p.m. Reverend Warr
conducted the double-ring
ceremony at Victoria Street
United Church, Goderich.
Decorations were baskets of
yellow daisies and white mums.
The organist was Mrs. J. Snyder
as Mary Ann Frayne and Diane
Buchanan sang "Green
Pastures", "Wedding
Benediction", and "Take Us
Lord".
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a long white
sheer crystalet gown, with a
Victorian neckline and two rows
of pleated crystalet, touched off
,with French lace from shoulder
to hemline. The sleeves were
long and puffed with a wide cuff
trimmed with matching lace. A
long cathedral train was held in
place from the waist with a bow.
A four-tier silk illusion veil was
held in place by a Queen's tiny
Faye Elizabeth Merrill, of
London, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Merrill, R.R. 2,
Clinton, was wed to Wallace
Jamieson Ribey of Goderich,
son of Mr, and Mrs. Orville
Ribey, R.R. 6, Goderich on July
15. Reverend L.S. Lewis
conducted the double-ring
ceremony at Ontario Street
United Church, Clinton.
The soloist was Mrs. Jeanette
Martin of Exeter, who sang
"Wedding Prayer, the theme
from "Love Story", and "We've
Only Just Begun" while Mrs.
Doris McKinley played the
organ.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor-
length A-line gown of white
organza, styled with empire
waistline, long puffed sleeves
with buttoned cuffs and standup
ruffle collar. She wore a four-
tiered veil of nylon , and silk
illusion with scalloped edges
trimmed in miniature daisies,
held in place by a pearl
trimmed cap. The bride carried
a bouquet of red carnations and
white stephanotis.
The matron of honor was the
sister of the bride, Mrs. Lois
Jones of :Hensall. She wore a
floOr-length, A-line gown , of
white organza with embossed
small red roses, trimmed with
daisies and red velvet ribbon, It
was styled with an empire ,
waistline and elbow length
droop sleeves. She carried an
arm bouquet of red carnations.
The bridesmaids were Miss
Karen Oakes of Clinton, and
Miss Marilyn Lancaster of
London. They wore gowns
identical to the maid of honor's.
The groomsman was Lyall
Mabon of Thunder Bay, a
friend of the groom. The ushers
were Ivan Merrill of Clinton,
brother of the bride, and George
Ribey of Sea forth, brother of the
groom.
The reception was held in the
church hall, which was
decorated with red geraniums
contained in brandy snifters
accented with juniper greens
and myrtle.
The mother of the bride wore
an orange ice crepe dress
with a corsage of matching
carnations, yellow and orange
roses and white stephanotis.
The groom's mother wore a
mauve and sand ensemble of
crimplene with a corsage of
yellow roses and white
stephanotis.
The bride's travelling
costume was a pink knit
ensemble with matching
crimplene vest, and white
accessories.
The wedding trip was to
Kentucky, Tennessee and the
Great Smokey Mountains.
They will reside at R.R. 6,
Goderich.
Hostesses for showers in the
bride's honor were Miss Karen
Oakes, R.R. 2, Clinton; Mrs.
Mildred Merrill, Bayfield; Mrs.
Marilyn French, held at Mrs.
Edith Tebbutt's, R.R. 2, Clinton
and Mrs. Irma Tyndall, R.R. 3,
Clinton. A party was held at the
home of Mrs. Diane Brooks,
London, by the London Life
Ladies' baseball team.
The mother of the bride was
hostess for a bridal trousseau
tea on Saturday, July 8.
A reception was held at the
bride's parent's home where the
bride's mother received guests in
a navy and white dress with red
accessories. The groom's mother
greeted guests in a yellow coat
and dress ensemble.
Guests were present from
Toronto, Milton, Ottawa,
Dundas, Kitchener and Angus.
The bride's going away
ensemble was a white cotton
linen fitted jacket and full
cuffed pants.
The couple will reside in
Toronto.

Londesboro united Church
was the setting when Robert
Glazier of Clinton married
Patricia Lillian • Taylor of
Clinton on July 29, 1972.
Reverend Stanley McDonald
conducted the donble ring
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Carriek of
Lucknow and the groom is the
son of Mrs. Wm. and the late
William Glazier of Clinton.
The bride wore a floor-length
mauve crepe dress with a white
shoulder-length veil and a
mauve bow. She carried white
daisies and pink baby roses.
Matron of honor, Mrs. Gerald
Hunking of Clinton, wore a pink
multi-colored floorlength dress
of crepe over tafeta, She carried
a bouquet of white daisies.
Mr. Gerald Hunking of
Clinton was the groomsman.
Following the marriage, a
reception was held in the
Clinton Legion Hall.
The couple's wedding trip
included stops at Kitchener,
Detroit and Port Huron,
Michigan. They will reside in
Kitchener.
Rathwell
reunion
The thirteenth annual
Rathwell reunion was held
recently in Seaforth Lions Park
with a crowd of 65 on hand.
The names of
Committee Officers for 1973 are
as follows: president, Bill
McAsh; vice-president, Bob
Norman; treasurer, Bruce
Rathwell; secretary, Kathleen
Beyritin; sports, Nancy and Bob
Elgie, Betty and Hugh Miller;
registrar, Madleine and D'Arcy
Rathwell.
The results of races, games
were: youngest child, Lee
Norman (son of Mr. and Mrs.
Bob Norman); girl with longest
hair, Becky Rathwell; boy with
most colorful slacks, Scott
Miller; woman with least
number of articles in purse;
Mrs. Cliff Stewart; person
coming the farthest distance,
Mr. Bob Elgie; men with most
pennies in pocket, Tom
Rathwell; birthday closest to
July 16th,, Becky Rathwell;
guessing the number of .,candies
in jar, Mrs. Dave Beynon.

Everyone had a very enjoyable
day. The picnic will be held

Engagement
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley M Hewitt, Sarnia, Ontario wish to
announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Sandra
Lynne to Gary Bruce McBride son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley
McBride, Varna, Ontario. Wedding will take place 7 PM
August 25th at St. George's Anglican church Sarnia with the
Venerable George C Pearce officiating.

The matron of honor, Linda
Allin of Goderich, wore a long
dress of turquoise swiss dot with
short puffy sleeves and a high
neckline. The dress had an
empire waist. Yellow daisies
adorned her hair, while she
carried a bouquet of yellow
daisies and yellow rosebuds.
The bridesmaids, Miss
Darlene Draper of Goderich,
and Miss Bonnie Johnston of
Nile, were attired the same as
the matron of honor.
The, groomsman was Dennis
Vanderburgh of Goderich and
ushers were Wayne Allin and
Ed Byrski, both of Goderich.
The reception was held at
Saltford Valley Hall, which was
decorated with pink and white
streamers and bells,
The mother of the bride wore
a royal blue and white dress of
crimplene with white accessories
and a corsage of pink
carnations.
The mother of the groom wore
a powder blue crimplene dress
with white accessories and a
corsage of pink carnations.
The bride's travelling
costume was a yellow dress,
with a white collar and white
cuffs on the sleeves, trimmed
with two rows of white lace from
neckline to hemline. She wore
navy accessories and a corsage
of deep mauve carnations.
The wedding trip was to
Niagara Falls and the couple
now reside on Trafalgar Street,
Goderich.
A shower was held at Mrs.
Diane Buchanan's assisted by
Mrs. Hellie Kloeze and Mrs.
Irene Vanderburgh previous to
the wedding. Another shower
was held at Mrs. Pat Godd's,
assisted by Mrs. Valerie
Vanderburgh. A community
shower held at Carlow was
given by the' aunts of the bride.
A trousseau tea was held at
the home of the bride on June
24.
St. Paul's Anglican Church
Clinton was the setting when
Grace Dianne Cudmore,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reg
Cudmore of the Base Line and
David Ostler, Willowdale, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Ostler of
Milton, were wed on June 24.
Reverend Sharpies conducted
the service, Miss Cathy Potter
was the organist.
The bride wore a gown of
Antron Jersey, Grecian lines,
over pure silk. She had a
hooded cape of Nylon Crepeset.
The bride, who designed and
created her own dress, carried
a long-stemmed red rose,
Mrs. Pat Hertel, Waterloo, sister
of the bride, was matron of
honor, She wore a yellow print
tricot over taffeta with a yellow
hood of nylon tricot. She carried
long-stemmed yellow roses. The
outfit was also created by the
bride.
Frank Putman, bridegroom's
brother-in-law was the
groomsman.
