Married in Seaforth Living in Brucefield
NOTT
St. James Roman Catholic
Church, Seaforth, was the
setting for the marriage ,of
Phyllis Marie Anne Feeney and
Donald Elgin Nott, which took
place June 24th, 1972 at 3:30
(.'clock. The double-ring
ceremony was conducted by
Rev. Father H. Laragh.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Feeney, 214
South Main Street, Seaforth
and Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Nott,
R.R. 4, Clinton, are the parents
of the groom,
The bride, given in marriage
by her mother and father, wore
a floor-length gown of lagoda
highlighted by a daisy chain
trim on the Edwardian neckline.
Wide panels of Swiss guipure
lace trimmed the front of the
gown and the A-line skirt, which
fell to a chapel train. Her
chapel-length veil was caught to
a cluster of daisies and she
carried a bouquet of pink
sweetheart roses centred with a
daisy.
The bride was attended by
her sister, Mrs, Yvonne
Bennewies, of London, as
matron of honour with Miss
Marian Nott, R.R. 4, Clinton
and Mrs. Ann Preszcator of
Bridgeport, as bridesmaids.
They wore identical formal
gowns of hot pink polyester
crepe featuring scoop necklines,
ruffled sleeves, empire
waistlines trimmed with white
lace dotted with red roses and
pink ribbon through it. Their
headpieces were hot pink daisies
centred with pearls which held
their floor-length veils. They
carried nosegays of pink
carnations and yellow and white

P.M. a wedding ceremony took
place in Londesboro United
Church united in marriage
Linda Velma Preszcator and
Larry William Dillon, Rev. Stan
McDonald officiated. The bride
is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ken Preszcator, RR 1, Clinton
and the groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Lawrence Dillon,
Seaforth. Wedding music was
played by Mrs. Gail Lear.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was dressed in
a crisp white polyester sheer
over polyester taffeta embossed
with white daisies. Her gown
featured an empire waistline,
long sleeves and high collar.
Her wedding ring headpiece
held her veil and cathedral
train which was edged in white
daisies. She carried a cascade of
red roses and white shasta
daisies.

the bride, was flowergirl
wearing a yellow Aline
polyester crepe dress and
carried a matching nosegay.
The groom was attended by
his brother, Mr. Glen Nott of
Toronto. Mr. Jerry Feeney and,
Mr. Harvey Dale were ushers,
Mrs. Alice Stiles, as organist,
played traditional wedding
music and accompanied the
soloist, Mr. John Van Geffen of
Seaforth.
Following the wedding a
dinner and reception was held
at the Legion Hall.
The bride's mother chose a
blue floor-length gown of
crimpknit with white accessories
and' a corsage of orange roses
and baby carnations. The
groom's mother wore a floor-
length gown of mauve polyester
and lace, white accessories and
a corsage of yellow roses and
white baby carnations.
For a wedding trip to the
Thousand Islands and Ottawa,
the bride travelled in a dress of
brown and white linen with a
white jacket and a corsage of
yellow roses.
Guests were present from
Toronto, Hamilton, London,
Detroit, Clinton, Seaforth,
Dublin, Kitchener, Dundas,
Peterborough and Waterloo.
The couple will reside at R.R.
4, Clinton.
Prior to her wedding the bride
was guest at a miscellaneous
shower given by Mrs. Mervin
Nott and Mrs. John Muir of
Seaforth. The bride's mother
held a trousseau tea at the
bride's new home, prior to the
wedding.

Miss Diane Preszcator was
her sister's maid of honour. She
wore a blue polyester taffeta
dress with empire waistline, full
sleeves and stand-up collar. She
wore blue rose sets in her hair
and carriad white shasta daisies
with a spray of baby's breath.
Mr. Jerry Dillon attended his
brother as best man. Ushers
were Jim Preszcator, brother of
the bride and Hardy Dillon,
brother of the groom.
Dinner was held at the
Church parlours and reception
at a hall later.
The bride's mother wore blue
polyester crepe dress with long
sleeves and sleeveless coat of
acetate nylon lace. The groom's
mother was dressed in a pink
polyester crepe clfess with a long
sleeved coat of acetate nylon
lace. Corsages of white shasta
daisies completed their
ensembles.
For travelling to points south,
the bride travelled in a navy
crimp coat dress with white
accessories and and corsage of
white shasta daisies.
The couple is residing in
Clinton.
Guests were present from
London, Galt, Walton, Exeter,
Crediton, Dashwood, Clinton,
Seaforth and Kinburn.
Prior to her marriage the
bride was given a surprise
shower at the home of the
groom's parents for friends and
school chums put on by Debbie
Learn and Diane Badley. A
miscellaneous shower was held
at the home of Linda's aunt,
Mrs. Allen Pfaff, for relations
and at the home of Mrs. Ella
Jewitt for a neighbourhood
shower.
Candelabra, ferns and baskets
of white gladioli and mauve
mums with baby's breath,
decorated the altar of Goshen
United Church on Saturday,
July 15, for the marriage of
James Roy Alexander Laing
and Marilyn Ruth Keys.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, Bruce Keys, of
Varna, and the groom's parents
are Mr. and Mrs. John Laing, of
Mississauga.
Rev. M. Morrison, Varna and
Rev. Don Beck, Hensall,
officiated for the double ring
ceremony.
Organist Mrs. Berne
McKinley, Zurich accompanied
the soloist, Mrs. Gordon Cerson,
an aunt of the groom, of
Teeswater. She sang "The
Weddilig Prayer"...lan& "Walk
Hand in Hand".
Given in marriage by her
father the bride wore a long
gown of nylon organza over
taffeta in Victorian style. The
skirt was trimmed with bands of
cluny lace and a ruffled hem.
Her head piece and long veil
were trimmed with the same
lace. She carried a bouquet of
white carnations, stephanotis
and baby's breath.
Miss Barbara Ann Keys, of
Varna was her sister's maid of
honour. She wore a long gown of
blue and mauve floral crepe-de-
chine, featuring a high waistline,
ruffled hem and short flared
sleeves. The dress was trimmed
with a mauve belt and she wore
matching mauve bows in her
hair. She carried a nosegay of
mauve mums and baby's breath.
Bridesmaids were Miss
Lenore Laing, London, sister of
the groom, Miss Jane Fowler,
London, and Miss Faye
Cantelon, Seaforth, cousin of the
bride. They were all dressed
similar to the maid of lionOtif.-
Les Cruickshank, Mississauga
was best man and James
Cringan, Mississauga, Ervin
Keys, brother of the bride,
Varna, and Barry Cerson,
Teeswater ushered the guests.
The wedding reception was
held in the Zurich Community
Centre, which was decorated
with fern, white gladioli and
mauve mums.
The bride's mother chose a
long gown of pale blue nylon
sheer over taffeta. It featured
long full sleeves, embroidered
bodice and blue satin trim.
She wore a white orchid
corsage, The groom's mother
wore a long sleeveless gown of
periwinkle blue matte jersey
with matching hip length jacket
with long fitted sleeves. It
featured a rolled collar with
gold buckle matching the
cumberbund on the dress. She
wore an orchid wrist corsage.
For a wedding trip to the East
Coast the bride changed to a
long gown of polyester crepe
with hot pink bodice and
matching floral skirt with a
deep blue sash. She wore a
corsage of white carnations.
The couple will reside at 2485
Hurontario Street, Mississauga.
The groom is employed at
Erindale College of the
University of Toronto and the
bride is a 1971 graduate of
Victoria Hospital, London, and
is employed at the Mississauga
frospital.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was honoured at a
Community shower in Goshen
United Church; Mrs. Gordon
Hill, the bride's aunt, held a
kitchen shower for relatives.
Marilyn also received gifts from
the staff of the 5th floor west at
Victoria Hospital and the 4-H
Club of Varna.

A joint service of Varna and
Goshen United Churches was
held in Varna on Sunday last
with Rev. Peter Renner of
Bayfield in charge. There was
also a baptismal service when
Darren Douglas, son of Mr, and
Mrs. Douglas McAsh was
baptized.
Next Sunday, August 13th,
the service will be held in
Goshen United Church with
Rev. Clifford Britton of Hensall
as guest minister.
Mrs. Doug Robinson, Lorrie,
Cathy and Carol of Willowdale
spent 'last week at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred McClymont.
The local Royal Black
Knights are preparing for the
monster parade and celebration
to be held in Clinton orr
Saturday, August 12th.

Susan M Graves of Goderich,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Charles Graves, Thun-
der Bay, and Jacob George
Doucette of Clinton, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Earl LeRoy Doucette,
Clinton, were wed at St.
George's Anglican Church,
Goderich on July 8. Reverend
G.G. Russell conducted the
double-ring ceremony.
Music was played by Paul
Baker of London. The
processional was "Purcell's
Trumpet Tune."
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor-
length A-line gown of silk
organza over taffeta. It had a
sweetheart neckline, and long
fitted sleeves trimmed with
organza ruffles. Her long
sleeveless coat ended in a chapel
train edged -with lace and she
wore 'a full-length veil held in
place by a rose headpiece, edged
with .nlatching lace. She carried
roses and carnations and baby's
breath in .the shape of a cross.
Matronof honor, Sandra
Lynne McNutt of Elmvale, wore
a dress of light blue crepe with a
satin look to it. To touch it off,
there was a beaded binding
around the neckline and empire
waistline. Her flowers were five
small carnations tinted blue,
worn in her hair, and small blue
and white carnations and
baby's breath tied with a blue
ribbon.
The bridesmaids, Cynthia
Anne Beyer, sister of the bride,
of Mount Forest, and June
Saldivar of Seaforth, wore
dresses similar to the matron of
honois. They all wore cameo
earrings and matching
necklaces.
Edmund Saldivar of Seaforth
was the groomsman. Ushers
were Harvey J. Beyer of Mount

Arlene Williams, daughter of
Mr, and Mrs. Ernest H,
Williams of 103 James Street,
Seaforth, and Kenneth
McCowan, Jr„ son of Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth McCowan, Sr., of
RR 1, Brucefield were united in
marriage on July 15th at 3:30
p.m. at Northside United
Church in a double-ring
ceremony officiated by Rev. T.C.
Mulholland.
The Altar was decorated with
two vases of long-stemmed
yellow gladioli and white mums.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a white
floor-length gown with long
Chapel train. Her nylon over net
gown with satin lining had a
full-length panel of white
embroidered lace with white
satin ribbon down centre of
dress and also on long puffy
nylon sheer sleeves. The high
collar and yoke were also of
sheer nylon. Her four-tiered
shoulder-length nylon veil with
scalloped edges was held in
place by a headband of finely
meshed nylon flowers with pearl
centres. She carried a cascading
bouquet of yellow mums
accented with white mums.
Miss Dianne Dalton of
Seaforth, was the maid of honor
and the bridesmaids were Miss
Joan Finkbeiner, Zurich and

Welland. Miss Susan William
of London was the junio
bridesmaid. They were gowne
in long dresses of yellow Swis:
dot trimmed with white lace anc
short puffy sleeves. White lace3
floppy hats with long yellow
velvet ribbon streamers
completed their ensembles. They
carried cascading bouquets o1
white mums accented with
yellow mums.
, Mrs. James Stewart was the
organist and accompanied Mr
and Mrs. Chris. Knetsch when
they sang "Love of God", "Walk
Hand in Hand" and "One Pair
of Hands",
The reception was held in the
Church social rooms. The
mother of the bride wore a mint
green crepe dress with long
sheer sleeves with a sleeveless
overcoat. The groom's mother
was dressed in a mauve
polyester dress with sheer floral
printed sleeves.
For their wedding trip the
bride travelled in a white and
pink floral A-line dress with
pale pink smock and corsage of
white mums.
The couple will reside in
Brucefield.
Guests were present from
Buffalo, Welland, London,
Goderich, Windsor, Chatham
and surrounding areas.

George's Anglican Church Hall.
Decorations were shasta daisies
and four sets of yellow candles.
The mother of the bride wore
a dress of light beige delicate
print, matching coat, a broad-
brimmed hat and a yellow rose
bud corsage.
The groom's mother wore a
floor-length gown in green with
a lace empire waistline, a round
ring hat and a corsage of burnt
orange rosebuds.
The bride's travelling
costume was a light beige pant-
suit with a dark brown collar
and pockets. She wore white
sandals. A gardenia corsage set
off the ensemble.
The wedding trip was to
Manitoulin Island.
The couple will reside at 56A
Square, Apt. 102, Goderich.
Two showers were held in
Goderich by the first Goderich
Guide Company. Leaders in the
Guides and Brownies also held
a shower in honor of Susan.
There was a shower in Lon-
don, given by the bride's grand-
mother and friends.
A shower in Clinton was
hosted by June Saldivar and
Marj Collins at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Doucette.
