Clinton bantams played two
games last week displaying fine
performances in each, The first
game, against Goderich, was in-
complete as it was rained out af-
ter four innings. During those
four innings, Bartliff
mesmerized the opposition with
four ineffective singles and two
runs, Meanwhile, a combination
of hits, walks and errors let
Clinton build up an 8-2 lead;
partial revenge at least for an
earlier defeat by Goderich.
Wednesday, Crediton came to
town and it was all Mark
Nicholson, who had a no-hitter
and 16 strikeouts over six in-
nings of play, Clinton supported
Nicholson with alert base run:
ning, scoring when opportunity
arose, The final score was 4-1 in
favour of Clinton. At game's
end, Crediton had one run on
two hits, while Clinton was four
runs on six hits, Nicholson ad-
ded one more strikeout in the
seventh to give him 17 in a
seven-inning game.

The Lambton Youth Theatre
performed Sunday evening in
Pioneer Park in Bayfield to a
crowd gathered on lawn chairs or
sprawled on the grass.
The play, called "Hexastylos",
was a collage of six excerpts from
well-known plays of all ages. Its
purpose was to portray the
history of theatre. Starting with
"Prometheus Bound" by
Aeschylus, the players
demonstrated classical theatre,
Shakespearean comedy, Shaw's
Pygmalion", all the way up to e.e.
curnmings and an original "Free
Form" exercise with audience
participation.
The scenery consisted of hand-
painted boxes and screens, and
the imaginative costumes were lit
by the Lake Huron sunset.
The Lambton Players are
Youth Programs, which help
students participate in summer
jobs. Every week they hold ton
workshops, and sometime in mid-
August they will discontinue the
workshops and go on tour. They
perform within a radius of about
200 miles from Sarnia, which
sometimes can involve quite a bit
of travelling on the day of the
performance,
Last year the Players
performed "Che" in Pioneer

from year to year, Bayfield
