The trophy is in recognition of the time and enthusiasm that Bert has contributed to minor sport in Clinton. Bert, who was transfered to London, holds a replica of the trophy. At Mitchell the Colts walloped Mitchell 20-2. Stu Mustard pitched the distance allowing only two runs on five hits. He struck out five batters and allowed six walks, His record for the season now stands with two wins and no losses and one save, The game started out very slow and was scoreless until the fifth inning; Then the roof fell in on Mitchell. The Colts scored 3 runs in the fifth, 5 runs in the sixth, 9 runs in the seventh, and 3 runs in the eighth to round out the scoring. The birflow was a grand slam homerun by Doc Miller in the sixth. Clinton pounded out 15 hits. The leading hitters for the Colts were Doc Miller with a homer, double and single; -A rchie Pickett, a double and single; Cam Colquhoun, a triple and double; Stu Mustard, two singles: Brad Dutot, double and single: and singles going to Rick Fremlin, Don Bartliff, Butch Fleet, and Greg Burns, On last Sunday evening at the Clinton Community Park, the Colts romped over Arva 13-9. The score did not indicate that Larry Pickett pitched a good game. His team mates committed seven errors, Arva was only credited with two earned runs out of the nine -they received. It was Pickett's first complete game of the season, and by going the distance, he ran his pitching record to two Wins and no losses. Larry struck out five and walked one batter. Clinton jumped off to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. A lead-off double by Butch Fleet and a single by Laurie Colquhoun produced one run. A double by Don Bartliff and a single by Brad Dutot knocked in two more. Arva narrowed the margin to 3-2 in the second inning when two Clinton errors proved costly. Going into the fifth inning Clinton trailed 6-5. The Colts erupted for four big runs on three walks, an error and a double by Butch Fleet. With the score 9-6, Arva battled back and trailed 9-8 after six innings. Arva's pitching wildness got them into trouble again- Six walks and a booming double by Laurie Colquhoun with the bases loaded helped Clinton get their last four runs. Clinton 's leading hitters in this game were Butch Fleet with 2 doubles, Larry Pickett 2 doubles, Laurie Colquhoun 2 singles and a double; Don Bartliff, a double; Brad Dutot and Greg Burns one single each.
