Prior to presenting trophies to
championship teams and
Outstanding Athletes, Clare
Magee after being introduced by
many interesting and humorous
anecdotes by Mr. Langdon,
Clare's coach when attending
CHSS. The second part of the
presentations included the trophy
for the Huron Perth Golf Champs
by Mr. Dougherty on behalf of golf
coach Mrs. Fraser.
Mr. Reidy, senior basketball
coach presented his Huron Perth
champs with their trophy and also
the most Valuable Player award
to Peter Cameron for the second
year in a row.
The Senior boys Volleyball
Team was presented their WOSSA
championship pennant by Mr,
Clynick and Mr. McAdam
presented the Most Valuable
Player Award to Paul Bartliff.

Long were sold by auction.

Hospital
Auxiliary meets
The June meeting of the
Hospital Auxiliary was held at the
summer home of Mrs. Paul
Walden with thirty six members
present, Mrs. Ed Davies led in the
prayer for Hospital Auxiliaries.
Mrs. Ken W000d, Mrs. Ed
Wilson and Mrs. Paul Walden
volunteered to help at the Open
House of the Stratford School of
Nursing on July 28.
The hospital cart is to he
staffed by the Varna U.C.W. in
June, the Wesley Willis U.C,W. in
July and the Brucefield U. C. W. in
August.
A delicious pot-luck dinner was
enjoyed by all those present.
Mrs. Frank Fingland.

afternoon with stories of her
experiences in Arabia, Libya and
Israel while visiting these
countries last winter.
The first meeting of the fall will
be held on Tues. Sept. 5th.

Huron Secondary School, Clinton at which several persons received
awards, Seen left to right are: Ray Mair, most valuable junior
athlete; A.J.B. Langdon who introduced the guest speaker and is
past coach of the senior football and basketball teams; Elaine

Former athletic star speaks at awards dinner
Leonard Keith Jamieson, son of
Mrs. J. Arnold Jamieson and the
late Mr. Jamieson, R.R. 4 Clinton
graduated recently from the
O.A.C. University of Guelph with
a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Agriculture. He attended school
in Hullett Twp. and Seaforth
District High School and has
accepted a position with
Cyanamid of Canada Ltd.
