The Clinton Juvenile Girls'
Softball team started their season
on June 8, and sent the girls from
Brodhagen home on the short end
of a 22-21 score. After being
behind 10-5 in the second inning, a
grand slam home run by Betty
Heynesbergen, two homers by
Patti Kay and one by Deannie
Strong set the pace for the
eventual winners. Cathy
Patterson was the winning
pitcher.
LastSunday, the visitors were
Tavistock and the lobal girls were
poor hostesses, clobbering them

Last Saturday night, behind the
four hit pitching of Don Bartliff,
the Clinton Colts squeaked out a
3-2 wie over Mitchell. To top off
the fine pitching performance, it
was DOA himself who provided the
clutch hit in the bottom of the ninth
to drive in Brad Dutot who had
walked to open the ninth for the
winning run.
After Dutot had walked, Stu
Mustard laid down a perfect
sacrifice bunt. When the Mitchell
catcher- threw low to first, Stu
ended up on first base. With

Nicholson was impressive in the
three innings he pitched, striking
out six batters as well as
contributing a single and homer
with his bat. The victory was a
team effort with all players
getting into the game. It was a
good tune-up for the first league
contest.
