Last year's yellow costumes will be replaced by new outfits created by designer Marilyn Brooks and made entirely of Canadian fabrics, said Mrs. Adams. She described this year's costume as a versatile "watercolour blue" ensemble consisting of tunic, blazer, blouse, pants and skirt that can be varied according to the weather and occasion. "The tunic top is 1(10 per cent Arnel, washable drip-dry," said Mrs. Adams. "It carries a polka- dot motif of happy, smiling "hippos". The tunic has a back sewn-in belt, short sleeves and a 27-inch front zipper that allows it to be zipped up to a full closed turtleneck or worn open as a casual collar on the blouse. "The blazer features the wider lapel, single-breasted style, and has a suppressed waist and side vents, Front pockets are pleated. The cuff has a slight curve anti can be worn turned back. The blazer buttons are of brushed gold' finish." DON'T BURN CANADA'S FORESTS! Clinton News-Retard, Thursday, June 1, 1972--A fluffier of principle EAY cAlit, flOallslOWAY OntarioOntario Place hostesses in blue The Editorial "Reality is unreal" in the May 18 issue of this paper gives a great deal of food for thought, It states that "One put shoots another nut" (Arthur Bremer vs, George Wallace). "Nuts" probably, but also two people who are determined to get what they want by whatever means is necessary, even to the point of killing, It would seem that Bremer wanted freedom from frustration and turned the clock back'several centuries to the time when the method was a matter of killing whoever stood in your way. Wallace, seeking the highest office in United States, is of the modern age when money and appeal to emotions and prejudice can gain support most successfully. I would think that the Wallace type of `!violence" is the more deadly of the two. Isn't it strange that the one method is acceptable and the other not? Then the editorial turns to Quebec and the imprisonment of the three labour union leaders who refused to have their union members forced back to work by government legislation. Again it would seem that two kinds of violence were being used. The government was saying "Go back to work or we will put you in jail" and the Unions, through their leaders, are saying "Pay us what we ask or we'll wreck the economy." Really just two types of violence yet one is supposed to be acceptable and the other not. , The paragraph ends up with the statement that "The battle is not now between English and French but between capitalist and socialist". In the final paragraph the editorial is critical of David Lewis whom it labels "a socialist" for being critical of the courts. In other words, the socialists are the "bad guys" and the courts are the "good guys". On a T, V. program Mr. Lewis admitted that the Union leaders had broken the law and were guilty but he did state that the sentence was much too severe and failed to accomplish its objective. As far as I can make out the sentence imposed on the Union leaders has had much the same result as the shooting of George Wallace. The item closes with the question "What will happen next?" 'don't know what will happen next but I do think there is a great deal that can be done to make the right things happen. The government must stop encouraging violence, For about 30 years the Federal of Agriculture urged reform of the education tax on farm propeky in the annual brief to government. Each year it was well received and it was indicated that the matter would be looked into and justice would be done—but nothing was done. Then the farmers signed a petition stating that they would not pay this portion of their tax bill, It was illegal and could have meant that farmers could legally have been evicted from their farms. There would have been violence, so before taxes were due that year the Government agreed to give a 25 per cent rebate on farm property education taxes. Threat of violence paid off, Shouldn't farmers, and others, recognize that if you want something you get it by going violent. To me the struggle is not between labelled groups or parties, it is between the poor and the rich. It is always amazing to me to see the change of attitude that takes place when people shift from the one group to the other, There has to be a change of attitude if we are to escape the "rat- race". As a farmer should my objective be the accumulation of a huge bank account or should it be the production of an adequate food supply for hungry people, including myself? Should a man work so that he can have wonderful holidays or should he direct his efforts so that this world will be a better place to live for everybody. • 'was intrigued by a story the minister of the church I happened to attend last Sunday. God and the devil happened to meet and God said he was going to defeat evil by organizing his people. To which the devil replied "Oh no you're not, because I will institutionalize your organizations. It seems to me we are awfully short on organizations that are working for the people and very long on institutions that are only interested in their own preservation, BUYING? SELLING? And for a lift, there's a splash of sunshine yellow on some of these funny little animals, along with a touch of white, all on a sand-tone background." "The hosts will wear basically the same type of outfits worn by male students last summer: grey blazers with the Ontario Place crest on the breast pockets, blue slacks and dark shoes, This year, instead of dark-blue turtleneck sweaters, they will wear white shirts and blue ties. Marina crewmen will wear dark-blue windbreakers, T-shirts, blue slacks and dark shoes." College students from all over the province, who will work at Ontario Place in hosting. maintenance and other capacities, will begin an instruction and orientation course from May 12 to 19, to prepare them to meet and assist the public during the Ontario Place summer season, May 20 through Thanksgiving Day, October 9.
