The competition on April 21, in the London Parental Christian School and in St. Robert's Auditorium, was well attended and enjoyed by Clinton supporters. The day provided a recurrance of enthusiasm displayed in the faces and voices of children and adults, A. full house witnessed the Evening Performance of the winning contestants and all participating Senior Choirs. The magnificent auditorium at Moncalm Secondary School, London, was filled with an eager audience. Clinton and District Christian School attained the following standings: First Place, James Klazinga, Grade 2, Solo: Class A; Jim Postma, Grade 2, Creative Writing: Class A; Jake Benjamins, Grade Solo: Class D; Robert Maaskant, Grade 8, Musical Instruments; Class A. Second Place: Gail Vanderwal, Grade 4, Piano Solo: Class A; Marion Vander Heuvel, Grade 8, Musical Instruments: Class A; Wilma Lee Greidanus, Grade '7, Public Speaking. Third Place: Junior Choir, Grades 1-4, Mrs. Janna Seinen, Director; Cathy DeBoer, Grade 1, Interpretative Reading; Class A; Albert Siertsema, Grade 8, Interpretative Reading: Class D; Letter to the Editor The editor; The person who wrote "Some still doubt the Easter Story" appearing in your issue of April 20 seems to have missed entirely the point of my letter of last week "Echoes of Easter". Believing in the resurrection Of Christ from the dead and associating that resurrection with pagan practices are two entirely different things, With Peter we believe "This Jesus God (Jehovah) raised up, and of that we are all witnesses." (Acts 2:32 R,S.V.) However, no evidence has been produced to show that the original "Easter" festival was anything more than a pagan celebration; and the Scripture statement on the matter is; "...what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be partners with ' demons," (1 Corinthians 10:20 R.S.V,) Misrepresentation, especially by those professing to be "Christian" does not appeal to honest-hearted people. Therefore, using the writer's own words: "We need to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith," C, F. Barney.
