KENNEDY: Suddenly at home on
Thursday, March 30, 1972, Chris
Kennedy of R.R. 1, Londeshoro, in
his 51st year. He was the husband
of the former Joyce Fairserviee
and is survived by sons, Wayne,
R,R. 1, Londesboro, Bradley,
Auburn and Mark, at home, also
daughters Brenda (Mrs. Mac
Brooks) Blyth and Sharee, at
home. The funeral service was
held at Ball Funeral Home on
Sunday, April 2 with interment in
Clinton Cemetery.

awarded the Provincial Junior
Farmer Scholarship at the
Centralia College of Technology
at an Awards Night Banquet held
last Wednesday evening at the
College. Daryl is completing his
two-year diploma course in Farm
Business Management at the
Centralia College.

Youngblut and Lorne William
Daer. Rev. William Henderson
officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Youngblut,
Woodstock, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs, Bert Daer,
R.R. 1, Auburn.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a floor-
length gown of sheer swiss dot
trimmed with a baby blue velvet
ribbon accenting the empire
waistline, She wore a white
picture hat with matching trim
and carried a presentation
bouquet of pink sweetheart roses,
Miss Laura Youngblut, sister
of the bride was maid of honour
wearing a gown of sheer blue
swiss dot designed identically to
that of the bride's. She wore a
white picture hat with baby blue
velvet ribbon and carried a'
presentation bouquet of long
stemmed daisies.
Kenneth Daer, brother of the
groom, was the best man.
For a reception which followed
in the dining-room of the church,
the bride's mother received the
guests wearing a two-piece navy
ensemble with a corsage of pink
sweetheart roses. She was
assisted by the groom's mother
wearing a dress of green fortrel
accented by a corsage of yellow
sweetheart roses.
The couple will make their
home in Woodstock.
Guests were present from
Wingham, Auburn, Stratford,
Strathroy, London, Clinton, and
Woodstock.

HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
Flowers and plant life of
Northern Canada will be the topic
at the May 8 meeting of the Auburn
Horticultural Society when Mrs,
Maurice Bean will tell of their
trip last summer to the North
West Territory and the Yukon.
The program will be in charge
of Mrs. Norman McDowell and
Mrs, Beth Lanking. The pot-luck
lunch will be served by Mrs,
Frank Raithby, Mrs. Ross
Robinson, Mrs. Torrance Tabb
and Mrs. Robert Turner,
, The president Mrs. Gordon
Taylor presided at the Executive
meeting held last week in the
' Town Hall. The president
welcomed the members of the
executive and directors and the
minutes were approved as read by
the secretary, Mrs. Beth
Lansing.
Mrs. Eleanor Bradnock
presented the financial
statement. Correspondence was
read and a letter from Mrs,
William Ktie was discussed
stating that the District 8 annual
meeting will be held in Hanover on
April 15th. Delegates will be sent
from the Auburn Society.
The Ontario Horticultural
Association will hold their annual
meeting this year at Kingston on
June 16 and 17 and delegates will
be chosen at the May meeting. It is
hoped that many new members
will join the Auburn Society and
aid in beautifying the village by
flower beds and flower boxes.

The Walkerburn monthly
meeting was held at the home of
Mrs. Lloyd McClinchey with a
good attendance, In the absence of
the president Mrs. Elliott Lapp,
Mrs, Garth McClinchey was in
charge of the *meeting.
The roll call was answered by
the payment of calendar fees. The
draw prize donated by Mrs. Lorne
Hunking was won by Mrs. Lloyd
McClinchey, The minutes of the
previous meeting were accepted
as read by Mrs, John Hallam in
the absence of the secretary,
Mrs. Worthy Young.
Donations were voted by the
memberstogotothe Easter Seal
campaign and also to the Cancer
Fund. An Easter reading was
given by Mrs. Roy Deer.
The program was in the charge
of Mrs. John Hallam and Mrs. Roy
Daer. Contests were won by Mrs.
Garth McClinchey and Mrs. Lloyd
McClinchey.
Plans were made'-for the next
meeting lobe held at the home of
Mrs. Thomas Cunningham. The
program will be in charge of Mrs.
Garth McClinchey and Mrs.
Henry Hunking and the lunch will
be served by Mrs. Thomas
Cunningham and Mrs. James
Jackson.
