A nd it's right at the tip of your fingers - - with an unobtru-
sive light plug, a small switch to flick. That's what starts
industries humming and farms producing. That's what floods

that six bales were ready now to
go to Toronto a total ,of 160
pounds. Mrs. Plaetzer thanked all
who had assisted in making the
nine quilts.
Mrs. Dorothy Grange
suggested to the members that
Mrs, Gerald McDowell be in
charge of Junior congregation and
this was carried. Plans were
made to have a family night in
February and the members
decided to cater to the 50th
anniversary of Auburn Women's
Institute on May 2. Mrs, Plaetzer
closed the meeting with prayer.
Lunch was served by the
members of Unit I and a social
time enjoyed,

We are sorry to report that
Mrs. Beth Lansing is a patient in
Clinton Hospital. We wish her a
speedy recovery.

Jessie Naylor, Mrs. William
Clark, Mrs. Thomas Haggitt,
Mrs. Frank Raithby and Mrs.
John Hildebrand attended the 4-H
leaders training school at Clinton
last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Sanderson and Mr. Thomas
Johnston were London visitors
last Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riley
visited on Sunday evening with
Mr. arid Mrs. Torn Riley of
Clinton,
Mrs. Alice Armstrong of Pilot
Mound Manitoba is visiting this
week with her neice, Mrs, Luther
Sanders.
Mr, and Mrs. Ben Riley,
Gordon, Greg, Sandra and Lorna,
Mr. and Mrs, Robert Shaddick of
Londesboro spent Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Goodfellow and
Kristina of Georgetown.
The Proverbs from the
Kingston area were special
guests at the Kinburn Conimunity
Church on Sunday, They
conducted the church service and
supplied the special music.
WALKERBURN CLUB
The January meeting of the
Walkerburn club was held at the
home of Mrs. Lloyd Penfound with
the president Mrs, Elliott Lapp in
charge.
She opened the meeting by
singing 0 Canada and Mrs, Lloyd
Penfound led in the Lord's
Prayer. Mrs. Worthy Young read
the minutes of the previous
meeting. The roll call was
answered by 11 members and two
guests. The financial statement
was given by the treasurer Mrs.

Mrs. Roy Daer was the winner
of the draw prize that had been
donated by Mrs. Elliott Lapp.
Correspondence was read and
thank you notes. On motion of
Mrs. Roy Daer and Mrs, Lloyd
Penfound it was decided to have a
miscellaneous auction sale. at the
February meeting to be held at the
home of Mrs, Ted Flunking. Mrs.
Arie Duizer and Mrs. Worthy
Young will be in charge of the
program and Mrs. John Hallam
and Mrs. Elliott Lapp will be the
lunch committee.
The afternoon's program was
in charge of Mrs. Penfound who
introduced Mrs. Arnold Riley who
showed pictures of a trip to
Germany, France, Holland and
Monte Carlo with interesting
commentary. Mrs. Thomas
Cunningham thanked Mrs. Riley
for her travelogue and presented
her with a gift. Lunch was served
by Mrs. Arie Duizer and Mrs.
Worthy Young.
