Two Groups of carol singers visited Huronview on Christmas Eve and were guided through the building by the nursing staff, The Young People of the Goderich Penticostal Church arrived at eight o'clock and the folks from the Clinton Christian Reform at nine, with each group singing carols for an hour. The residents received a lovely Christian calendar following the Sunday evening song service from the Clinton Christian Reform Church. Mr, Dick Roorda led the service with devotions taken by Mr. Beukema, Mr, and Mrs. Bill Holland, Miss Becky Howes, 'Barbara Bosman and Betty Jewitt contributed several musical numbers at the Wednesday many holidays Mrs. Bob Storey and Alvin spent Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs, Alex Riley and family of Londesboro. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Preszeator, Linda, Dianne and Nancy; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Preszeator, Billy and Debbie; Mr. and Mrs. David Preszcator, Christine, Lisa and Christopher attended the Christmas Day celebration held for the Hill family at the Crecliton Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Thompson of Ottawa and Miss Betty Thompson of Toronto spent the Christmas weekend with Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson, Jim, Sharon and Bob, They all spent Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. Terrence Hunter of Colborne Township and Sharon and Bob remained for the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Storey spent Christmas Day with Mr, and Mrs. Charles Houghton of Holmesville. Gerald Riley returned to Stratford to spend the Christmas holidays with the Bannon's. Mr. and Mrs. Art McMichael, Rhonda, Jeff and Scott of Goderich, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thompson and Ricki spent Christmas Day, with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Thompson and Joan. Mrs. Irene Grimoldby visited on Sunday with her daughter, Mrs. Ken Betties of Winthrop. Mr. and Mrs. Doag Whyte and family of Glen Orchard spent Monday with his father, Mr. Harold Whyte, Mrs. W. L. Whyte, Tom, Bill and Margie. Miss Beth Keyes of Point Edward spent the Christmas weekend with her cousin Joan Thompson. Joan returned on Tuesday with Beth to Point' Edward to spend a few days with her. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Strathbee and Valerie spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thompson and Ricki. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Mitchell of Montreal visited the past week with her parents,- Mr. and Mrs. Don Buchanan and family. Donna Buchanan accompanied them on a trip for the Christmas holidays to Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hoggart spent Christmas Day with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pryce of Winthrop. Miss Nancy Buchanan of Brampton spent the Christmas weekend with Mr. and Mrs, Don Buchanan, Paul, Gary and Jim. They all spent Christmas Day with Mr, and Mrs. Wilfred Buchanan and family of Ilderton. afternoon get together provided by the Clinton Kinette Club. Lunch was served by the ladies with everyone joining in the singing of carols, Mr. Tim Bigelow arranged and introduced the program by the Young People of the Bayfield Baptist Church on Family Night. The musical program included instrumentals trumpet solo, John Bigelow, piano solo, Wendy Greer, with vocal numbers by Cathy Bigelow, Mrs. Joe Chapman, Wendy Greer, Mrs. Bigelow and several selections by the chorus. Pastor and Mrs. Bigelow closed the program with a few words of encouragement to the residents wishing them health and sappiness in the New Year. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grigg and the groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Staniforth, all of Clinton. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. A. J. Mowatt of Clinton. Mrs. Lloyd Bond, Holmesville, aunt of the bride was the organist and Mrs. Bill Hearn, Clinton, was the soloist who sang "Wedding Benediction", "The Lord's Prayer" and "Wedding Prayer". The bride, given away by her father wore floor-length gown of peau de sole, trimmed with guipure lace and beaded pearls with Victorian Collar, Bishop Sleeves and Detachable .Chapel., Train. Her shoulder-length veil was held in place by a tiara headpiece of lace and beaded pearls. She carried a cascade of pink sweetheart roses, purple orchid and white stephanotis strewn with purple and deep pink streamers. Matron of honour was Mrs. Tom Cunningham, RR 1 Auburn, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Rick Newman, Mississauga, and Mrs. Bob Grigg, Galt, sister-in-law of the bride. Their gowns of lilac silk velvet were styled similar to that of . the bride's, with Victorian Collar and long puff sleeves. They carried nosegays of mauve mums, pink sweetheart roses and carnations with deep pink streamers. John Rodges of RR 2, Goderich, was the best man and guests were ushered by David Pugh, Clinton, and Bob Grigg, Galt, brother of the bride. Dinner followed at Clinton Legion Hall. Jim Leslie, Brantford, was the master of ceremonies. Reception and dance followed with music provided by Ian Wilbee. The bride's mother received guests wearing a deep pink dress of peau de sole with long sleeves and silver accessories, Her headpiece and corsage was of pink sweetheart roses. For 'the 4e'dditig -trip to Miami, Florida, the bride chose a dark green double knit two-piece ensemble with black accessories and a corsage of deep pink sweetheart roses. Prior to her marriage the bride was feted with showers given by Mrs. Charles Nelson, Mrs. Rick Newman, Mrs. Jack Yeo and Mrs. Frank Yeo. White mums and red candelabra formed the setting for the marriage of Marilyn Tebbutt and Robert French on November 23, 1971 in Holmesville United Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvine Tebbutt, RR 2 Clinton and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph French, Mitchell. Dr, A. J. Mowatt assisted by Rev. W. J. Murray, Mitchell, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Organist was Mrs. Jim Lobb and soloist, Mrs. Norman Kemp, Mitchell, cousin of the groom. The bride.given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of lagoda featuring a graceful ruffle on the skirt. The einAke s_111r,L waist .was accented with Alencon lace and seed pearls as were the full sleeves which ruffled at the wrist. A pillbox headpiece with lace and pearls to match the dress, adorned the long, lace-edged mantilla veil. She carried red sweetheart roses and white carnations. She wore the groom's gift, an opal pendant with matching earrings. Maid of honour, Miss Jane Fisher, St. Thomas, cousin of the bride wore a floor-length gown of red velvet princess style. She wore white miniature mums touched with red in her hair and carried a bouquet of white miniature mums with a red velvet ribbon. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Pat Dockstoder, Toronto, niece of the bride and Miss Wendy Parker, London. Flowergirl was Wendy Tebbutt, St. Catharines, niece of the bride. Their dresses and flowers were similar to the maid of honour. Master Donald Williams, Picton, nephew of the groom was ring-bearer and carried the rings on a white satin pillow. Best man was Wm. French, RR 2 Mitchell, twin brother of the groom. Ushers were Keith Selves, Kirkton, and Wayne Tebbutt, nephew of the bride. Following the ceremony the bridal party received guests at the reception and dinner which followed in the church basement. The bride's mother wore a rose crimpolene dress with lace trim, and beige accessories and corsage of white gardenias. She was assisted by the groom's mother wearing a powder , crimpolene dress with beige accessories and corsage of white gardenias. For travelling to Calgary the bride chose a purple pant suit with black accessories and corsage of pink carnations, Guests were present from Picton, St. Catharines, Guelph, London, Kirkton, Mitchell, Seaforth, Clinton, Bay field and iGoderich area. Prior to her marriage the bride was honoured with showers given by Pool Ins., London; Miss Wendy Parker, London; Miss Faye Merrill, at home of Mrs. John Merrill; Mrs. Keith Selves, Kirkton; Mrs. Pat Dockstader and Miss Jane Fisher at home of Mrs. John Tebbutt.
