Blyth PS students’ parents have interesting wish listWe asked the Blyth Public SchoolGrade 1 class...If you could give your parents anything in the world for Christmas, what would it be? “I would give them a flower so our house can smell good.” Braidon “My dad wants time to nap and my mom wants flowers, because she likes the smell of them.” Abby “I would maybe get them Christmas decorations, like a welcome sign with Rudolph on it, just to be nice.” Hannah “I would get my mom a Santa hat because I think she should have one because they make me think she’s Santa. I would get my dad a reindeer hat, then my mom would be the boss of him.” Brinna “I would get them a picture book, because you can draw words and make them into a picture in the book, and I would get them a teddy bear.” Chandler “I would get my mom a laptop because she’s always wanted one and I would get my dad a red CD player because red is his favourite colour.” Rorie “I would get my parents an iPad, because they like them because they can teach me math with it and do stuff on their own. I would get them a picture of art too.” Rylee “I would get my mom a shiny ring with a diamond because my mom likes diamonds. I would get her a kitchen table with my dad, and I would get my dad some cologne because he likes to wear it. Tyson “I would give my dad work boots because he works a lot and they keep getting worn out, and I would give my parents some new Christmas decorations because some of ours keep breaking.” Ryan “I would get a new couch because my family has an old one and we need a new one. I would get a new computer too because our old one doesn’t work.” Colby “I would get a necklace for my mom because she likes necklaces, and a bike for my dad because his is broken, and a Wii because ours is broken.” Jason “I would get clothes because my parents are nice. I would get them nice, new clothes.” Andrew “ I would get my mom an iPod Touch so she can listen to music and not steal my iPod. I would give my dad a new snowblower because he just really wants one.” Hailey “I would get my dad a mini-fire truck because he’s in the fire department and I would get my mom a cookie maker because she has a shop in the backyard where she makes cookies.” Joel “I would get my parentsdeodorant, because they need it, andshampoo, because my mom has lotsof hair.” Kal “I would get them something nice, like a new bed, because their bed sounds kinda creaky, and a place to put their stuff, like a closet to put their clothes in, and I would paint their bedroom.” Garrison “I would get my mom a scarf because she likes them, and gloves, and I would get her a bed for my cat. I would get a teddy bear for my mom’s boyfriend, and a snuggly teddy bear with a Santa on it for my mom. I would get my dad t-shirts and new chairs.” Carmen “I would get my dad more tools because he doesn’t have many, and I would get my mom new baskets because she does laundry.” Ameera “I would get my parents a white sports car because my mom doesn’t have a car, and I would get my dad a windshield for a four- wheeler.” Liam “I would get a Slushie maker because my parents really like blue Slushies. The Huron East Municipal Office will be closed from December 24, 2010 to January 2, 2011. The first regular Council meeting in 2011 is scheduled for January 4, 2011. Giving for their parents Blyth Public School’s Grade 1 Class got to imagine they were magic for a second and asked what they would give their parents if they could give them anything. The answers run the gamut from the practical to the fanciful, and from the realistic to the hopeful.
