Farmers Matter hosts meeting
Cranbrook euchre ends
Locals shine on Royal Winter Fair stage
The Farmers Matter group from
Perth County will be inviting
politicians, industry stakeholders
and beef and pork producers from
across the province to have a
positive, solution-creating town-hall
meeting on Nov. 26 at the Stratford
Agriplex, part of the Stratford
Rotary Complex.
Wayne Black, a former executive
member of the Huron County
Federation of Agriculture explained
that the evening is being put together
to bring problems to light “in a
solution-oriented hall meeting.”
Black explained that the
discussion will be moderated to keep
people on track and to make sure
that it remains a positive event.
“The event will be a positive
afternoon,” he said. “We don’t want
people slamming individuals or
groups, we want people coming
together to create solutions.”
Black stated that the organizers
are hoping for 600-800 people to
show up to the event, stating that all
stakeholders are invited, including
all farmers, retail suppliers and all
levels of the community that are
impacted by agricultural.
“The livestock industry needs
help,” Black said.
Guest speakers already lined up
for the event include Federal Liberal
Agriculture Critic Wayne Easter,
Ontario PC Agriculture Critic Ernie
Hardeman, MPP and NDP
Agriculture Critic Howard
Hampton, Perth-Wellington Liberal
MPP John Wilkinson, PC party
representative Bev Shipley,
President of the Ontario Federation
of Agriculture Bette Jean Crews,
Ontario Pork Chair Wilma Jeffray,
Ontario Cattlemen’s Association
President Curtis Royal, President of
the Christian Farmers’ Federation of
Ontario Henry Stevens and Ontario
Co-ordinator of the National
Farmers’ Union Sean McGivern.
The free event begins at 1 p.m. and
will run until approximately 4 p.m.
A dinner and dance will follow at
5 p.m. with $20 being charged to
offset costs.

season held at the Cranbrook Hall
on Friday evening which was hosted

Hatt and Edna McLellan.
There were lots of laughs and
reminiscing.

NO OVERNIGHT PARKING IS
PERMITTED ON ANY MUNICIPAL
STREET OR ROAD FROM
NOVEMBER 15, 2010 UNTIL
APRIL 1, 2011
between the hours of
3:00 am to 6:00 am
Any vehicle found to be in
violation will be ticketed
and/or towed.
Every person who is the owner or
occupant of a commercial or
business building located in the
area designated as Commercial
shall clear the way and remove any
snow and ice from the roof of such
buildings and shall also clear away
and remove the snow and ice from
the sidewalks in front of, alongside,
or at the rear of such building.
DEPOSITING OF SNOW ON
STREET ALLOWANCES
No person shall deposit any snow
or ice upon any portion of any
highway, street or bridge located
within the limits of the Municipality
of Central Huron.
No Person shall move snow within
the street allowance from one side
of the cleared portion of the street
allowance intended for vehicular
and pedestrian traffic to the other
side of the street allowance.
