little sluggish allowing Seaforth to
get two pucks by Blyth’s goalie

Blyth was also having trouble
staying out of the penalty box in the
first.
The second period went much
better as Kyle Pollard, with help

The Blyth Bantam Rep Bulldogs
put two in the win column with a 3-
1 victory over Zurich and a 14-1
victory over Brussels.
The Blyth Bantam Rep Bulldogs
were able to strike first with Arden
Coultes putting one by Zurich’s
goalie in the first couple of minutes
of the first; some discussion took
place as to whether it was a shot on
net or a pass that missed the mark.
Arden says it was a shot for the
record.
Robbie Gordon with help from
Dustin Pennington and Ryan Nesbitt
got the second goal of the game for
Blyth. The Dogs had two penalties
in the first with Dustin Pennington
and Coultes each taking turns in the
sin bin. A screened shot from the
point went by Blyth’s net minder
Dalton Carey to get Zurich on the
board with a power play goal. The
first period ended with Blyth up 2-1.
The second period was filled with
great hits that would make Don
Cherry proud. Both Blyth and
Zurich had two players each take
turns in the sin bin. Midway through
the second period, Wyatt Carey was
able to score with a slap shot from
the point.
The third period was similar to the
second with lots of big hits. The
Dogs kept the pressure on, with
more then a few close goals.
The final score was a 3-1 victory
for Blyth.
This victory came hot on the heels
of a big victory against Brussels.
Blyth struc first as Mike VanWyk
scored with help from his brother
Matt and Spencer Stevenson. With
that first goal on the board the Dogs
just kept coming and ended the first
period up by four goals.
The second period played out
much like the first except for Ryan
Nesbitt and Pennington taking a trip
to the penalty box for two minutes
each. The Dogs were able to kill
both penalties and ended the second
period up by 10 goals.
The third period was once again
dominated by the Dogs but in the
dying minutes of the third period
Brussels was able to shatter any
thoughts of a shutout by Blyth’s
netminder Carey as they put one by
him. At the end of the third Brussels
was able to get a total of two goals
and Blyth put four more into the
Brussels net.
The final score was 14-2 for Blyth.
The scoring breaks down as
follows Dustin Pennington with
four, Matt VanWyk with three,
